Joseph Zada Biography

Joesph Zada was born in Sydney, Australia. He was raised in a creative family, with an actor-director father and a producer mother. He dropped out of high school in 2023 to pursue acting full-time.

His first notable acting role was in the 2019 comedy-drama Bilched, directed by his father and co-starring his brother. He appeared on television in the series Total Control and Invisible Boys. He also appeared as a lead in the television adaptation of E. Lockhart’s young adult novel We Were Liars.

In October 2024, he was cast in the Netflix adaptation of John Steinbeck’s East of Eden, set for release in 2026. In April 2025, Joseph was cast as Haymitch Abernathy in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, based on the prequel novel of the same name, portraying the younger version of the role that Woody Harrelson played in the original movies.

In his spare time he enjoys surfing, swimming, watching movies, reading books and hanging out with his four siblings.
