Based on the novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Anna Quindlen, One True Thing examines the confusing, painful and ultimately healing circumstances that occur when an ambitious daughter (Renee Zellweger) is forced to move back home to help her parents (Streep and Hurt).
While there, she discovers things about her parents she never knew, and the up and coming journalist is eventually accused of giving her mother a lethal dose of morphine.
