Photo courtesy AppleRumors circulated that Spider-Man star Tom Holland was taking a year off from acting after his new Apple TV+ series, The Crowded Room, which debuted last week, received negative reviews. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. He explained in an interview on Live With Kelly and Mark this week what really happened.

"The Crowded Room came out [and] we didn't have very favorable reviews," Tom said. "So the press story was that I have taken this year off because of the reviews. But I'm eight months into my year off. I've been chilling at home in London, going to Grand Prixes, playing golf…"

Despite the rating from critics, fans are loving the show. Tom gave them a shout-out for their support of The Crowded Room. "I would like to say a massive thank you to my fans, and the people that have seen the show because we're at 94 percent on Rotten Tomatoes," he said. "I feel so grateful that I have a wonderful community of people that support me and are there for me, so I'm honored and really excited for the rest of the show to come out."

The Crowded Room is about a young man named Danny Sullivan (Tom Holland), who's arrested for his involvement in a shooting. A professional interrogator played by Amanda Seyfried questions him intensely, during which Danny's life story unfolds, revealing his past and what led him to be present on the day of the crime. The 10-part mini-series also stars Emmy Rossum.

The first three episodes of The Crowded Room are now streaming on Apple TV+, with a new episode every Friday until July 28, 2023. ~Alexandra Heilbron

I really enjoyed the first 3 episodes. Looking forward to the rest. As for the Spider-man comment, I thought Holland was the best.
