A new year means new attractions coming to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
One of the highlights of the parks are the various movie-related attractions that are consistently being introduced that allow attendees to experience some of their favorite film franchises from a different perspective.
Let's take a look at what we have to look forward to.
Magic Kingdom
It's been awhile since Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World has had a light-up, nighttime parade. That changes in the summer of 2025 as Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away makes its way through the streets of Magic Kingdom. The Blue Fairy works her magic to bring to life some of the iconic characters from Peter Pan, Encanto, Frozen and more.
In late 2025, a new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern is slated to open in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom. In a press release, representatives at Walt Disney World said, "This brand-new experience will extend the classic story and offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small. The tavern will invite bandits and buccaneers-to-be from every corner of the seven seas to raise a toast to the pirate life."
Disney's Hollywood Studios
Disney's Hollywood Studios has been home to some of the biggest blockbuster attractions at the parks, from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to Toy Story Land. In 2025, the park will add more attractions to help balance out those long wait times. The first addition is The Little Mermaid– A Musical Adventure, which will feature new set pieces, and bold new effects and designs that will help capture Ariel's unique view of the world. The show was originally set to debut in 2024 but was pushed to the summer of 2025. The show will be held in the Animation Courtyard.
Also in the summer, guests will see the debut of Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After on Sunset Boulevard. The show will take guests into the magical realm of the Magic Mirror as iconic villains like Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and Maleficent take turns breaking through the glass to perform on stage.
Animal Kingdom
The last major addition will be coming in the winter of 2025 as Zootopia: Better Zoogether will be taking the place of It's Tough to Be a Bug at the Tree of Life in Discovery Island. This 4-D theater show will take guests on an adventure with Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde and others through a variety of biomes seen in the film.
