Weapons stays in top spot at long weekend box office

Top movies at weekend Box officeThe psychological thriller Weapons remained in the top spot during the long weekend, earning an extra $10.2 million for a four-week total of $132.4 million.

The 50th Anniversary re-issue of the fictional horror thriller movie Jaws garnered $8.1 million.

Caught Stealing starring Austin Butler as an ex-baseball player who finds himself in a dangerous struggle for survival debuted in third, earning $7.8 million in its first weekend of release.

Freakier Friday, the body-swap Disney sequel, dropped to fourth, taking in another $6.5 million for a four-week total of $80.5 million.

Rounding out the top five was The Roses starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch, which debuted to earnings of $6.4 million at the box office.
