Weapons hung on to the first place spot for the second weekend in a row, raking in $25 million for a two-week total of $89 million. The psychological thriller follows a shaken small town after 17 out of 18 children from the same class mysteriously vanish.
Freakier Friday, the highly anticipated body-swap Disney sequel, stayed in second place this weekend, taking in another $14.5 million for a two-week total of $54.7 million.
Nobody 2, the sequel to the 2021 action film, debuted in third with a take of $9.25 million in its first weekend of release. The story follows Hutch Mansell, an assassin paying off a debt, as he takes his family on a summer vacation, but danger and chaos follows Hutch everywhere he goes.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has Marvel's "first family" slipping into the fourth place spot at the box office this weekend with the film taking in an extra $8.8 million in its fourth weekend for a four-week total of $247 million.
The Bad Guys 2 secured the fifth place spot at the weekend box office, taking in another $7.5 million in its third weekend of release for a three-week total of $57.2 million.
