During a hike British couple Sarah and Jason Haygarth took in England's Lakeshore District, they had an experience unlike any other.
While out on High Crag with their dog, Edward, they encountered a helicopter flying overhead. If that wasn't strange enough, once it landed, Top Gun: Maverick's Tom Cruise emerged.
He apologized to the couple, saying, "Sorry for disturbing your peaceful walk with all the noise — I like your dog.”
According to The Sun, Sarah asked Cruise if he was really going to jump, to which he smiled and replied, "See you later, folks."
A video of the encounter was posted to the British paper The Sun, showing the A-list actor attached to a bright blue paragliding wing. Sarah wished Cruise good luck as he broke into a sprint. Seconds later, he was jumping off the edge of the cliff and sailing through the air. Sarah can be heard marveling at the stunt.
The hikers reflected on the once-in-a-lifetime experience. Sarah described Cruise as "cool as a cucumber" while Jason said he was the most famous person he'd met since English journalist, Richard Madeley, adding, “I ended up having a wee stood next to him in the gents. This tops that by a country mile.”
It's believed Cruise was filming for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One, the seventh installment in the action franchise. The movie is expected to hit theaters next summer. ~Claudia Minardi
