The newest Batman has finally been revealed.
The teaser trailer for the newest Batman film, The Batman, dropped this weekend at the DC FanDome event.
Fans got their first look at Robert Pattinson as the Cape Crusader in the dark, mystery-style iteration of the classic superhero. It’s not an origin story, but instead the film is set during the early years of Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne, who is trying to figure out exactly how to be Batman. During the event, director Matt Reeves said he was inspired by classic film noirs such as Taxi Driver and Chinatown.
The trailer only draws upon 25 percent of the planned footage shot for the film. Production only just began in January in London before it was shut down two months later due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Batman cast includes Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Jeffrey Wright as Gordon. While the trailer ends with an ominous release date of ?0?1, The Batman is currently scheduled to hit theaters October 1, 2021. ~Brie Davis
Thanks to Rob Pattinson, this will probably be the first Batman movie I ever see. He's even better looking than he was in Twilight.
