Nominations for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Tuesday, and as always, there was some backlash over those missing from the ballot.

Selena Gomez, who stars alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short, was left out of the lead actress in a comedy category for her role in Only Murders in The Building. Steve Martin and Martin Short said they were "dismayed" by the snub but pointed out that Selena did get a nomination as executive producer on the show.

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown was also missing from the acting category, despite her iconic role as Eleven. However, since only Vol.1 of the Netflix series' fourth season was eligible for this round of the Emmys, she may still get the nod next year for Stranger Things.

Mandy Moore expressed disappointment over the lack of nominations the final season of This is Us received this year, while congratulating Sid Kosla and her husband Taylor Goldsmith for their nomination in the Original Music and Lyrics category (the only nomination the show received). Despite its six-season run, Mandy Moore only received one Emmy nomination in 2019 for playing the matriarch of the Pearson family.

The Morning Show fans were upset over Jennifer Aniston's Emmy snub. Many fans took to Twitter to express their shock and disappointment that the actress did not get nominated. However, despite Aniston's snub, her co-stars, Reese Witherspoon, Billy Crudup, and Marcia Gay Harden, all landed acting nominations.

Other snubs included the FX original series Reservation Dogs, which follows four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma, and the popular Paramount+ series Yellowstone, which stars Kevin Costner in a Western drama, which received zero nominations despite earning an ensemble nomination at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC on Monday, September 12 at 8 p.m. and will be available to stream live on Peacock. ~Megan Parsons
