The movie many fans have been waiting for released last Thursday and had an incredible weekend at the box office.
The Batman starring Robert Pattinson had a breakout opening weekend performance, debuting with a strong $128.5 million, which is the second-biggest haul since theaters opened back up, as well as being the fourth largest opening for a Batman film.
The treasure hunt film Uncharted was bumped to second place. Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the adventure film earned $11 million for a three-week total of $100.3 million.
Dog, starring Channing Tatum as an Army Ranger who has to drive a dog home to a fallen soldier’s parents, also dropped a spot. Now winding up in third place in its third weekend, it took in another $6 million for a total of $40 million.
Spider-Man: No Way Home continued to stay in the top five, dropping just a spot to fourth place. It earned an additional $4.4 million for a 12-week domestic total of $786.5 million.
Rounding out the top five was Death on the Nile, starring and directed by Kenneth Branagh. It took in an extra $2.7 million for a four-week total of $37.1 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
