The Super Mario Bros. Movie easily held onto the top spot at the box office for the second weekend in a row, raking in an additional $87 million for a total of $347.8 million -- an incredible accomplishment for a movie that's been in theaters for just over a week.
The Pope’s Exorcist starring Russell Crowe debuted in second, taking in $9.2 million.
Dropping just one spot to third was John Wick: Chapter 4 starring Keanu Reeves, which took in an extra $7.9 million for a four-week total of $160.1 million.
Another new movie, Renfield starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage, debuted in fourth place, earning $7.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was Air, starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Jason Bateman. It dropped from fourth this weekend, with an additional $7.7 million for a two-week total of $33.3 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
