One new movie that debuted this weekend not only made it into the top five, but opened at the top of the charts.
Red One, a Santa Claus spy thriller starring Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans and J.K. Simmons, debuted at the top of the weekend box office, earning $32.1 million.
Venom: The Last Dance starring Tom Hardy dropped a spot to second, taking in an extra $7.3 million for a four-week total of $127.6 million.
In its second weekend at theaters, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever dropped a spot to third, earning an extra $5.3 million for a two-week total of $19.8 million.
The horror movie Heretic starring Hugh Grant dropped a spot to fourth, earning another $5.2 million for a two-week total of $20.4 million.
Rounding out the top five was The Wild Robot, garnering an additional $4.2 million for a eight-week total of $137.7 million.
