Project Hail Mary starring Ryan Gosling took the top spot at the weekend box office, debuting with $80.6 million.
The animated Disney film Hoppers dropped to second place, taking in another $18 million for a three-week total of $120.4 million.
The Hindi-language action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge, about an undercover Indian intelligence agent, debuted in third place, earning $10 million over the weekend for a total of $14 million since its debut on March 19.
The comedy horror film Ready or Not 2: Here I Come starring Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton debuted in fourth place, earning $9.1 million.
Rounding out the top five was Reminders of Him starring Maika Monroe as an ex-con who tries to reconnect with her young daughter, taking in another $8 million for a two-week total of $33.2 million.
