Predator: Badlands starring Elle Fanning debuted at the top of the weekend box office, taking in $40 million, more than predictions indicated.
After topping the box office last weekend, the drama Regretting You starring Mckenna Grace and Allison Williams moved back down to second place, earning an extra $7.1 million for a three-week total of $38.6 million.
Black Phone 2 starring Mason Thames and Ethan Hawke dropped a spot to third this weekend, taking in an additional $5.3 million for a four-week total of $70.1 million.
Sarah's Oil, set in the early 1900s, debuted in fourth place with $4.5 million.
Rounding out the top five was the highly anticipated Nuremberg about the WWII war trials starring Michael Shannon, Rami Malek and Russell Crowe. The critically acclaimed film earned 4.1 million.
