The newest feel-good tale of everyday miracles is called Ordinary Angels. It's based on the true story of Sharon Steves (Hilary Swank), who does everything in her power to try and save a little girl she just met. The film hits the screen tomorrow: Friday, February 23, 2024.
Also currently on the big screen is Season four of The Chosen. This show brings the characters from the Bible alive and allows the watcher to view Jesus the way his friends saw him. It's a captivating story with conflict and drama, and you can watch the newest season in theaters in three-episode installments.
Sound of Freedom was the biggest success of the past year in terms of inspiring movies that give a call to action. An indie film, it debuted at the top of the box office on the day it opened, earning $14,242,063 in one day — more than the previous weekend’s top movie: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. It's a thriller that captures the audience through the work of the main character, a former government agent (Jim Caviezel) turned vigilante as he embarks on a journey to save children from being trafficked in the sex trade. Based on the true story of Tim Ballard, it brought in $184.1 million at the domestic box office and an incredible $250.5 million worldwide.
Loving thy neighbor has a prominent role in Jesus Revolution (2023), a Christian drama centered around the hippie movement in 1969. A pastor is trying to save his church when he feels a disconnect between younger generations. He connects with a young hippie who changes his perspective.
Many wonder what happens after dying, and the documentary After Death (2023) explores that question. This movie is comforting and brings hope through the stories of those with near-death experiences. Although not all the after-life stories have happy endings, this film is not just uplifting, but acts as a wake-up call.
Family movies with messages of hope are always welcome, and Journey to Bethlehem (2023) came out just in time for the Christmas season. The adventure musical is a biblical story retold with catchy music and is perfect for all ages.

Sound of Freedom didn't seem religious at all. It was a tough story to sit through watching child trafficking and abuse.
Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the movie in Neepawa yesterday but totally forgot to watch for familiar WPG landmarks. Can you help out with that, like what church was used, where was the hairdressing shop etc? Thanks
