Bob Saget was found dead last Sunday afternoon (January 9, 2022) in a hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Orlando, Florida, having given a stand-up concert the night before. When paramedics arrived on scene, he was lying in bed in a supine position (on his back) with his left arm on his chest and his right arm resting on the bed.
Saget was only 65, and had seemed in good health and spirits the evening before, so his death came as a shock and surprise to fans, friends and colleagues, including his Fuller House co-stars, who have posted memories and condolences on social media.
Autopsy results could take up to 12 weeks, but here's what is known so far. On January 5, Saget said during the iHeartRadio podcast A Corporate Time with Tom & Dan that he'd tested positive for COVID-19. He didn't specify when he had it, but said, "It is not good. It does not feel good. I had it. I don't know if I had Delta or I might have had a combo. They might have been working together."
He also stated that he was now fully vaccinated and had even had his booster shot a month earlier.
At 3:42 a.m. on January 9, he posted to Twitter, writing, "Loved tonight’s show @PV_ConcertHall in Jacksonville. Appreciative audience. Thanks again to @RealTimWilkins for opening. I had no idea I did a 2 hr set tonight."
Tim Wilkins told Extra: "He was in beyond great spirits, both nights, just so happy to be onstage. He did an hour and 45 minutes on Friday and two hours on Saturday, and you only do that as a comedian when you’re having a good time… He was in good health and good spirits."
Saget spoke with his wife, Kelly Rizzo, before he went to sleep. A source told People: "He was so excited coming off of a great show and he sounded really happy. He was scheduled to fly home the next day."
The next day, when Kelly called him and he didn't pick up, she called the hotel's security team to check on him. Security officer Jody Lee Harrison entered Saget's room at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon and found him "unresponsive and not breathing." A 911 call was then made and homicide detectives arrived on scene.
A police report stated that Saget had entered his room at 2:17 a.m. The hotel room was tidy, with no signs of foul play. The evidence -- including Saget's relaxed position in bed and the fact that the lights were turned off -- pointed to the fact that he'd had a heart attack or a stroke in his sleep and died without suffering.
"Bob was my absolute everything," his widow Kelly wrote in a statement on January 10. "I am so completely shattered and in disbelief. I am so deeply touched by the outpouring of love and tribute from our friends, family, his fans and his peers."

@Kathryn Why do people automatically assume drugs were involved whenever a celebrity dies? Not everyone is a drug addict.

This is still pending but in the early autopsy results Bob Saget did not appear to have any drugs in his system. The examiner said it could be a stroke or a heart attack. So his death could be attributed to other factors that could be linked to heart disease, high blood pressure etc.. It's very sad. RIP Bob. Sympathies to his family.
I remember reading that he had scleroderma. That's a terrible condition that results in your organs having to work harder than normal just to function. It could easily have caused a heart attack or a pulmonary embolism, especially if his system had been weakened by fighting off Covid. I think they're going to find that his heart just gave out.
"Mysterious death"? That's a tad dramatic, don't you think? My late ex-husband died suddenly of a heart attack at work at the age of 49. He hadn't had any prior concerns about his heart health or anything. It was a shock, but "mysterious" is not the word for it. Stop trying to act like everything's a conspiracy.
@StriderGirl Bob Saget did not have scleroderma. His sister did, and before her a dear friend of his. He was a champion for the cause and spent a lot of time and money helping the Scleroderma Research Foundation.
It sounds like it could be sleep apnea, which is a shame because it's a condition that often goes undiagnosed until it's too late...

He lived a good life. Was happy with what he was doing in his work. Was loved deeply by his wife and family. Loved by close and distant friends and fans. Had a successful live show recently. It was so sad to hear that Bob Saget died. I can't even imagine the shock his wife had when she learned he was dead. If he did have any issues with drugs, they would have said so already. I believe it was Covid related since he mentioned he did test positive for Covid and said the symptoms he experienced were not easy. My friend sadly died from covid and was only 47yrs old. So sad to hear about Bob Saget's passing. I'm sure it had something to do with him contracting Covid. Horrible virus. Two weeks ago, my friend (who was a kidney transplant recipient for 8 years, and who's immune system was compromised, as is mine, since I am also a kidney transplant patient for 5 weeks.) passed out at home and was rushed to hospital. The doctors found out he had Covid and immediately was put in ICU, on a ventilator. Less than a week later, he died. Still cannot believe it....he was only 67. (Also, he had his three vaccine shots.) Like I said, horrible virus.

I don't know anything about this guy except that he seemed very wholesome. Even still, you hear so much about celebs and their wild habits outside of the limelight. I was sure there would bve details about some hooker and drugs involved but glad it's not the case. At least he can be remembered as that wholesome, nice guy. RIP
A good actor taken too soon I liked watching full house, I also thought the promoters we're going to have a reboot of that show. Comedy is getting no reviews, the magazines aren't promoting it they write about fashion cause of COVID. It's no funny having EMT tell viewers about their bad actions. Gonna miss Bob.
