FAN EXPO Canada is returning to the Metro Convention Centre from August 21 to 24, and this year’s event is shaping up to be one the biggest yet — especially if you’re a fan of classic sci-fi, superhero franchises, or animated hits.
This year’s celebrity guest list is stacked, with Back to the Future icons Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, and Mary Steenburgen leading the charge. The trio is set to appear just in time for the 40th anniversary of the beloved time-travel trilogy, making it a can’t miss moment at this year's FAN EXPO for longtime fans.
Joining them is Star Wars legend Ewan McGregor, who will be available to fans to talk about his iconic role as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Star Trek fans will also have reason to purchase a ticket to the event this year because William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk, is set to make an appearance, offering fans the opportunity to meet him.
Some other big names that are confirmed to be in attendance include Tom Welling from Smallville, Mike Tyson, and His Dark Materials star Dafne Keen, who are each set to participate in autograph sessions, panels, and photo ops throughout the weekend.
There will also be the faces of some fan-favorite animated voices from hit series such as Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss, and Avatar: The Last Airbender, including Alex Brightman, Michaela Jill Murphy, Jack De Sena, and Richard Horvitz.
Comic books lovers are also in for a treat, with appearances by Jim Lee, Jeph Loeb, Jason Aaron, Dan Slott, Pepe Larraz, and David Finch. Many of them will be hosting exclusive sketch sessions, signing events, and spotlight panels.
With so many iconic stars across film, television, comics and animation, FAN EXPO Canada 2025 is gearing up to be one of the biggest fandom events in North America. Whether you’re a die-hard sci-fi buff, a superhero super fan, or just there for the cosplay and collectibles, this year’s expo promises something for everyone.
