Magic Mike’s Last Dance, starring Channing Tatum and Salma Hayek debuted at the top of the box office with $8.3 million, knocking last weekend's top movie, Knock at the Cabin, out of the top five.
In its ninth weekend, Avatar: The Way of Water starring Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana held onto second place, taking in an additional $7.2 million for a total domestic take of $647.3 million.
Titanic: 25th Anniversary, the remastered version of James Cameron’s multi-Academy Award-winning Titanic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, debuted in second place with $6.7 million. This re-release puts two of the director's films into the top five.
The comedy 80 for Brady starring Sally Field, Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda and Rita Moreno dropped two spots to fourth, earning an extra $5.8 million for a two-week total of $24.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. The animated film, featuring the voice of Antonio Banderas in the title role, earned an extra $5.8 million, for an eight-week total of $158.6 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
