Kristen Stewart's new movie Personal Shopper was booed at the Cannes Film Festival.
The press corps at Cannes are notorious for their boos, and Personal Shopper was this year's first victim, although Kristen denies that the booing took place.
Kristen plays Maureen, a woman who recently lost her twin brother. The twins believe they can contact each other via the spirit world and her brother promised to contact Maureen within three months of his death.
Personal Shopper is Maureen's journey of self discovery as an American in Paris working as a personal shopper for a French celebrity, while simultaneously trying to communicate with the ghost of her late brother.
Critics are polarized. While many reported booing, several journalists took to Twitter, calling her performance "mesmerizing."
Pulp Fiction, Taxi Driver, and Inglourious Basterds were all booed during their respective years at the festival.

Miss Stewart has yet to win me over. From everything I've seen, she acts with all of the passion of a carrot on valium. No reason to expect any different here.
Big fan of Twilight but agree that her acting is flat and what happened to her? Her behavior and look are more and more bizarre.
Booing a film that is considered ground-breaking is tradition at Cannes. Many films that have been booed there go on to win numerous awards....go figure.

Kristen is a terrible actor , I can't for the life of me see what film makers see in her. She's flat like others have said. Zero emotion, like a robot!!!
Not sure what they were booing ........ the film itself or her. She is mediocre at best. As for booing ............ if you don't like a film, keep your boos and comments for afterwards. Some may be enjoying the film and would be upset with some jackal making rude noises beside them.........
This type of classless act would never happen at TIFF..regardless of the performance.

Ugh; I dislike Kristen Stewart as much as Megan Fox. Their acting and attitude inside and outside the studio are equally as bad. What's wrong with booing at a movie? After Godzilla, I let loose in the theatre. If it's terrible, there will be boo's.
Booing? That's just rude. No, press and public should not boo anyone. You clap out of respect for the work done. If you don't like the movie, don't clap, but don't be childish and boo.
Kristen Stewart has often been booed here at T.I.F.F and she's not the only one. Joseph Gordon Levitt is another and the people who boo them are eBayers. I personaly love JGL but him a KS do nothing for fans, which is really disappointing. "Regular TIFFer"
I obviously in the minority when I say enjoy Kristen's "flat acting". Having some restraint isn't common these days.
To call her "acting" wooden would be the understatement of the century. Petrified forests are envious of her.
