The highly anticipated sequel Joker: Folie à Deux starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga killed the hopes of the other films in contention for the top spot at the box office by debuting in first, with a total of $40 million. Click here to read our review.
Last weekend's top movie, The Wild Robot, was pushed to second, taking in another $18.7 million for a two-week total of $64 million.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega dropped another spot this weekend to third, earning an additional $10.3 million for an impressive total of $265.5 million. Click here to read our review.
The animated movie Transformers One wound up in fourth in its third weekend in the top five, garnering an extra $5.4 million for a three-week total of $47.2 million.
Rounding out the top five for the second weekend in a row was the horror thriller Speak No Evil, starring James McAvoy. It earned another $2.8 million for a four-week total of $32.6 million.
