Jennifer Lopez, who dated Sean "Diddy" Combs from 1999 to 2001, is being criticized by Elon Musk, who said during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast that she should have spoken up about the rapper's alleged sex crimes.
Musk, a Trump supporter, also criticized Lopez for endorsing Kamala Harris, saying, "JLo was like ex-girlfriend and it's like now deciding she's like warning people against Trump. How many people did she warn against Diddy, right? Oh zero, okay. Maybe we shouldn't trust her opinion."
He went on to criticize other musicians, adding, "People in the music entertainment industry had to know that Diddy was like abusing, you know, kids basically and yet they still fed him kids. Like where's the accountability? They had to know."
During the time Lopez dated Diddy, she traveled to Canada in 2000 to film the movie Angel Eyes (2001), co-starring Jim Caviezel. Diddy wasn't allowed to leave the U.S., because in April 1999, he was charged with second-degree assault and criminal mischief after brutally beating record executive Steve Stoute, and in December 1999, he was arrested in relation to a shooting at Club New York.
Lopez told Rolling Stone magazine during a 2001 interview that even though they weren't married, it caused Diddy to ask her for a divorce: "He told me many times, 'I want a divorce.' I would be away a lot, or he would... he couldn't go far, whatever, but he would say, 'So, where do I send the paper?'"
Diddy has been accused of multiple sexual assaults and beatings, dating back to 1990, with the youngest victim having been 10 at the time of the alleged assault. The rapper is currently being held in a Brooklyn detention center, awaiting trial, having been determined a flight risk and a danger to the public. ~Alexandra Heilbron
