The new animated sequel Inside Out 2 from Disney/Pixar debuted in the top spot at the weekend box office, taking in an impressive total of $155 million, even more than was predicted by industry insiders.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence dropped a spot to second place, earning another $33 million for a two-week haul of $112.2 million.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starring Owen Teague and Kevin Durand rose back up to third, taking in an additional $5.2 million for a six-week take of $157.8 million. Click here to watch our interview with the stars.
The Garfield Movie starring the world-famous animated cat dropped two spots to fourth, garnering an extra $5 million for a four-week total of $78.5 million.
Rounding out the top five was the thriller The Watchers starring Dakota Fanning, earning an additional $3.7 million for a two-week total of $13.7 million.
