Gwyneth Paltrow has been away from the big screen for five years, but she's signed on for a new movie because of her daughter Apple's crush on a celebrity.
The Oscar winner last appeared as Pepper Potts in the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame and had no immediate desire to return to making films, but Apple, 20, convinced her to take a role that was offered to her in the film Marty Supreme, co-starring Timothée Chalamet.
Gwyneth has been focusing on Goop, her successful wellness brand, but last year told a panel at the Red Sea International Film Festival, "I am happy now with what I am doing in Goop, but I never say never ."
Timothée, 28, who is currently dating Kylie Jenner, will not only play the lead in the film, which is inspired by Marty Reitman who was an American ping pong champion, but will produce as well.
An insider told the British news outlet The Daily Mail, "Gwyneth signed on to co-star with Timothée in Marty Supreme thanks to her daughter, who has had a crush on the Dune star for years."
Apple pleaded with her mom to accept the role -- and that convinced Gwyneth. The insider added, "After reading it and loving it, despite having no major wish to act right now, she was convinced by Apple, who intends to be on set as much as possible." ~Alexandra Heilbron
Definitely perks when you're a celebuspawn.
How cute! Ugh!
Does anybody really care. She so full of herself. It's annoying.
I cant blame her, the hottest celebrity in hollywood , the perfect handsome face Timothee Chalamet i cant resist.
Gwyneth wanted to be adored without being likable. It didn't quite work out that way.
