Several new movies debuted on Friday, with two securing a spot in the top five. Check below to see the results.
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, a movie that brings the original Ghostbusters team and the new one together, debuted in the top spot, earning $45.2 million on its opening weekend. Click here to read our review.
Dune: Part Two starring Timothée Chalamet stayed in the second spot, earning an additional $17.6 million for a four-week total of $233.3 million.
Kung Fu Panda 4 starring Jack Black dropped to third place on the weekend box office charts, taking in an additional $16.8 million for a three-week total of $133.2 million.
Immaculate, the horror film starring Sydney Sweeney about a nun who had an immaculate conception takes the fourth spot. It debuted with $5.3 million.
Rounding out the top five was the uplifting Arthur The King. It follows the story of a loyal dog accompanying an adventure racer (Mark Wahlberg) on his last attempt at winning. This film took in an additional $4.3 million for a two-week total of $14.6 million.
