Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling chase dreams in new La La Land trailer

Published By Tribute on Nov 03, 2016

It's being touted as the film to beat for next year's Best Picture Oscar. It's headlined by two of film's brightest stars. It's got music, it's got romance, it's got promise. It's La La Land.

The official 'Dreamers' trailer for Damien Chazelle's highly-anticipated film dropped today, and with it, a closer look at Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, and their palpable connection.

In the clip, we see Mia (Emma) and Sebastian (Ryan) hopelessly fall for each other and pursue their passions. Hers is acting, his is jazz music. The pair hustles to break out under the bright lights of Los Angeles while building a life together (and dancing to a tune or two along the way).

Although this trailer doesn't show it, the film reportedly explores how Mia and Sebastian's insatiable desire for success threatens to fracture their relationship.

Set in modern times but infused with a vibrant, charming '50s vibe, La La Land co-stars Oscar winners J.K. Simmons and John Legend, as well as Finn Wittrock and Rosemarie DeWitt. It swings into theaters in December 2016.

I won't be pleased if this wins Best Picture. There has to be something else worth rewarding.

I have been of two minds since I first saw a trailer for this. But Ill give it a fair shake and go see it. I've seen other shows I thought were iffy and ended up enjoying them, so no reason why this won't awaken my nerve endings on the day.
