While reporters were questioning President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Monday about whether he would pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, the woman who assisted Jeffrey Epstein in finding underage girls, he inadvertently revealed that Sean Diddy Combs had asked him for a pardon on his sex trafficking charges, for which the rapper was charged with more than four years in federal prison.
Diddy's legal team requested Diddy be housed at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison in New Jersey, to allow him “to address drug abuse issues and to maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts,” wrote his lawyer, Teny Geragos.
"A lot of people have asked me for pardons," Trump said. "I call him Puff Daddy; he has asked me for a pardon."
Back in May, Trump told Newsmax he’d "look at the facts" regarding a pardon for Diddy. He explained, “I was very friendly with him, I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile." Trump told them that because of his relationship with Diddy souring that it would make it "more difficult to do."
Trump has pardoned several rappers during his time as president, including NBA YoungBoy (possessing weapons while being a convicted felon), Lil Wayne (carrying a handgun onto a private jet after being convicted of felony weapons charges), and Kodak Black (falsifing information on federal forms to purchase firearms).
Rapper 50 Cent a.k.a. Curtis Jackson is outraged by Diddy looking for a pardon and said he would like to remind Trump about several statements the rapper made about the president prior to his election. In one video, Diddy said, "If Trump gets elected, I really do believe in my heart there’ll be a race war." Another video has the rapper saying, "White men like Trump need to be banished."
On Monday, October 6, 50 Cent wrote on his Instagram: “Man you can’t get No pardon running ya mouth like that! LOL Get Out of here."
