Disney’s Snow White starring Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler breathed new life into theaters, with the live-action remake taking in $43 million -- the only film to earn double digits this weekend. Although it was by far the highest earning movie at the box office this weekend -- with a budget of $209 million, it has a way to go before breaking even.
Black Bag starring Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender moved up a spot to second place, earning an additional $4.4 million for a two-week total of $14.9 million. With a reported production budget of $50 million, it also needs to stay in the top five at the box office to bring in a profit.
Captain America: Brave New World, now in its sixth weekend at the box office, crept back up to third place. The film added another $4.1 million to its domestic total, which currently sits at $192.1 million.
Last weekend's top movie, the action film Novocaine starring Jack Quaid, dropped down to fourth place, with an additional take of $3.8 million for a two-week haul of $15.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie. The duo of Porky Pig and Daffy Duck took in another $1.8 million for a two-week total of $6.5 million.
