After enjoying three weekends in a row at the top of the box office, the animated hit film Inside Out 2 has been replaced by another animated sequel, Despicable Me 4.
Despicable Me 4 starring the voice of Steve Carell debuted at the top of the weekend box office, earning $75 million over the 3-day weekend for a total of $122.6 million since it opened in theaters on July 3.
Inside Out 2 dropped a spot in its fourth weekend, earning another $30 million for an amazing four-week take of $533.8 million.
A Quiet Place: Day One starring Lupita Nyong'o as a woman caught in an alien invasion in NYC took in another $21 million for a two-week total of $94.4 million. Click here to read our review.
The horror movie MaXXXine starring Mia Goth, the third film in the X franchise, debuted to the tune of $6.7 million.
Rounding out the top five was Bad Boys: Ride or Die starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, which earned another $6.6 million for a five-week haul of $177.4 million.
