Denzel Washington leads The Magnificent Seven in new teaser trailer

Published By Alexandra Heilbron on Apr 20, 2016

The official teaser trailer for the remake of the western The Magnificent Seven just arrived this morning and it looks like it's going to every bit as good -- if not better -- than the 1960 original film.

This one stars Denzel Washington as Sam Chisholm, a gunslinger who's approached by a widow. She lives in a quiet little town that's been invaded by outlaws. They've burned down the church and killed several citizens -- including her husband. She asks him for help, saying she's seeking righteousness, but will be happy with revenge.

He agrees and goes to round up more men to help him, including Josh Farraday, played by Chris Pratt. Chris seems to be bringing his usual nonchalance and humor to the role, as his character sardonically asks if the task will be difficult. "Impossible," Chisholm tells him. Nonetheless, Farraday agrees.

Joining them will be Ethan Hawke as Goodnight Robicheaux, Vincent D'Onofrio as Jack Horne, Byung-hun Lee as Billy Rocks, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Vasquez and Martin Sensmeier as Red Harvest. Peter Sarsgaard is also on board as Bartholomew Bogue, the leader of the villains. That's a fine sounding bunch of names.

At any rate, these gunslingers (actually, Red Harvest seems to be more adept with a bow and arrow than a gun) ride into town to save the day. Watch the action above - The Magnificent Seven debuts in theaters September 23, 2016.

Loved the original one - the mystique, the star power, the theme song - simply amazing. This one, I hope they don't FUBAR!!!
