Country singer Todd Snider had performed the first concert of his "High, Lonesome and Then Some" tour on October 30 in Englewood, Colorado before he and his band moved on to Salt Lake City, where they were set to perform next on November 1. However, prior to the concert he was violently attacked outside the hotel where he was staying and suffered severe injuries.
The news was reported on his Instagram page, which read: "We are heartbroken to announce the cancellation of the High, Lonesome and Then Some 2025 Tour dates. Ahead of Todd Snider’s show in Salt Lake City, Todd sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel.
"Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined amount of time. We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it causes. We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon."
Billboard.com described Todd as a singer who is "known for solo albums that blend keen cultural observations and deeply detailed lyricism."
Todd was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, where he was treated, but police said after the singer was discharged, Todd yelled and swore at the staff because he didn't feel he was ready to leave. After allegedly threatening a member of the staff, Todd was arrested for causing a disturbance. He has since been released from police custody. ~Alexandra Heilbron
