CinemaCon, the official convention of NATO, was held from April 8 to 11, 2024, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. CinemaCon’s Big Screen Achievement Awards Ceremony took place yesterday at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Ariana Greenblatt, star of Borderlands, was honored with the Rising Star of 2024 Award (pictured at right). Borderlands, which also stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Jamie Lee Curtis, hits theaters on August 9, 2025. Ariana got her start playing Jenna Ortega's little sister on the Disney channel series Stuck in the Middle in 2016.
The stars of A Quiet Place: Day One were also honored: Lupita Nyong’o received the CinemaCon Star of the Year Award, while Joseph Quinn, who's best known for his role as Eddie Munson on the hit series Stranger Things, received the CinemaCon Breakthrough Performer of the Year Award. A Quiet Place: Day One debuts in theaters on June 28, 2024.
