Captain America still flying high at the box office

Top weekend movie postersCaptain America: Brave New World is still king at the box office. The film, which has Anthony Mackie picking up the shield, came in number one for the third straight weekend with a $ 15 million haul. The film fell 47 per cent, and its domestic total now sits at $163.6 million. We will see how much more the film can bring in with a couple of heavy hitters set to release in March: Mickey 17 and Snow White.

Coming in second place was the Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu underwater thriller Last Breath. In its debut, the film brought in $7.8 million.

Oz Perkins' horror-comedy, The Monkey, came in third place as it added another $6.37 million to its haul. It saw a second weekend drop of 55 per cent, which is  slightly better than the usual drop for a horror film, which tends to be around 60 per cent. Its domestic total currently sits at $24.6 million.

Paddington in Peru dropped one spot to fourth place in its third weekend. The film grossed $4.5 million, a 31 per cent drop, and has a domestic total of $31.3 million. The film could still pass Paddington 2's domestic total of $40.9 million but will not touch the original Paddington's total of $76.2 million . The film's worldwide total of $164.3 million is also significantly behind that of its predecessors, which sit at $326 million (Paddington) and $290.1 million (Paddington 2).

Rounding out the top five in its fifth weekend is Dog Man. The animated film fell 28 per cent and brought in another 4.2 million. It now has a domestic total of $84 million.
