Captain America: Brave New World tops weekend box office againCaptain America: Brave New World took the box office crown once again in its second weekend. The superhero film starring Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford brought in another 28.2 million, which brings its total domestic gross to $141.2 million. It dropped 68 per cent, a number Disney and Marvel wanted to be lower, especially given its reported budget of $180 million.

In second place was Oz Perkins' latest film The Monkey. The horror-comedy brought in $14.2 million in its debut, making it the second highest opening for a Neon distributed film. It doesn't quite reach the heights of Perkins' last film, Longlegs, which also debuted in second place, but opened to $22.4 million. With that being said, it's still an excellent opening for the film — considering its budget of around $10 million — and Perkins is establishing himself as a director to watch going forward.

Paddington in Peru came in third place, in its second weekend, bringing in another $6.5 million, a 48 per cent drop. Its domestic total currently sits at $25.2 million. The film, which released in the U.K. back in November, has already grossed $115 million internationally so things are looking strong for everyone's favorite bear.

After a steep second weekend drop, Dog Man has been hanging around as it dropped 40 per cent in its fourth weekend and brought in another $5.9 million. Its current domestic total sits at $78.7 million. We will see if it can cross that $100 million domestic threshold, but either way, the animated film is a big win for DreamWorks and Universal.

Rounding out the top five, in its second weekend, was Ne Zha 2. The Chinese animated film brought in another $3.06 million and dropped 60 per cent. It has now made $14.86 million domestically, but that is nothing when compared to its international haul. This past week the film passed Inside Out 2 to become the highest grossing animated film of all time with a worldwide total of $1.7 billion and counting.
