Captain America: Brave New World -- the first blockbuster of 2025 -- easily took over the top box office spot during the long weekend. Starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson and Harrison Ford as U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, the film garnered an impressive $88.5 million in its first weekend in theaters.
The adorable British bear Paddington debuted in second place with the newest installment, Paddington in Peru, which earned $13 million domestically.
Dropping a spot to third was the Valentine's Day horror-slasher film Heart Eyes, taking in another $10 million for a two-week total of $22.5 million.
Dog Man slipped from the top spot it enjoyed for two weekends in a row to finish fourth in its third weekend. The animated film brought in another $9.7 million, for a domestic total of $66.8 million.
Rounding out the top five was the animated Chinese fantasy comedy film Ne Zha 2, which earned $7.2 million at the domestic box office.
