Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson in the title role easily fought off the competition at the box office this weekend. The DCEU film debuted with a domestic take of $67 million.
Also new this weekend was Ticket to Paradise starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts as a divorced couple with plenty of banter. The comedy earned $16.3 million in its debut weekend.
The horror movie Smile dropped a spot to third place, taking in an additional $8.4 million for a four-week total of $84.3 million.
After opening at No. 1 last weekend, Halloween Ends dropped four spots in its second weekend in theaters. The horror film earned an additional $8 million for a two-week take of $54.1 million.
Rounding out the top five was the family film Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, about a little boy who finds a singing crocodile living in his home. In its third weekend, the film earned $4.2 million for a total of $28.7 million. ~Alexandra Heilbron
