It's a tale as old as time -- boy turns into beast, beast imprisons girl, beast and girl fall in love -- however, this is definitely the more modern version of the tale. While the narrative remains pretty faithful to the original, the special effects reveal great change. Dan Stevens as the menacing (and heavily CGI'd) Beast, alongside Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, proves just how far we've come from 1991 in terms of creating a visual spectacle.
Of course, add in an always-charming Emma Watson as the courageous beauty with a love for literature and Kevin Kline as her bumbling yet brilliant father, and you've got yourself a flick that roars into the 21st century.
