Avatar: Fire and Ash tops weekend box office 5th time in row

Box office weekend of January 16 to 18 resultsAvatar: Fire and Ash remained at the top of the box office for the fifth weekend in a row, taking in an extra $13.3 million for a total of $363.5 million.



28 Years Later: The Bone Temple starring Ralph Fiennes and Jack O’Connell debuted in second place, earning a less-than-predicted sum of $13 million.

Zootopia 2, featuring the voices of Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman, climbed back up to third place, earning an extra $8.8 million for an eight-week total of $390 million.



Ginnifer Goodwin reveals how Zootopia 2 came about, nine years after the original. She discusses the new characters, including the beaver Nibbles Maplestick and a koala voiced by Robert Irwin. She also reveals what she thought was the coolest thing about having the cast meet in person.



The thriller with a clever twist, The Housemaid starring Sydney Sweeney, dropped a spot to fourth in its fifth weekend at the box office, taking in an additional $8.5 million for a total of $107.1 million.



Rounding out the top five was Marty Supreme, which climbed back up from seventh place with earnings of $5.5 million for a five-week total of $79.7 million.
