A nifty little suspense film bordering on horror, Sam Zalutsky's first feature puts a gay spin on creepy-apartment-building-entrapment scenarios of Polanski's THE TENANT and ROSEMARY'S BABY. Jilted by his lover, young architect Jeffrey moves into the same apartment building to keep tabs on his reluctant would-be boyfriend, after charming the motherly landlady (onetime Cat Stevens muse Patti D’Arbanville). But just who is stalking whom becomes the central question, as it becomes apparent that the rot eating at his hardwood floors is symbolic of an evil infecting the entire address.
What happened to the former tenant? Is Jeffrey really the milquetoast he seems? Or does that placid surface hide a murkier agenda?
