DON"T WATCH MEN!!! waste of money and mid-night...
awesome
Great film!Films like this and the Dark Knight are really setting the bar high for super hero films. This was truly an amazing story, I can only imagine how good the graphic novel must be.
Fantastic!
It's OK but certainly did not live up to the hype.
HOrrible, biggest waste of time and money ever
I thought the movie was fast and fun. Great cinematography.
I am unfamiliar with the Graphic Novel so didn't know what to expect. I found the movie to be fast paced and entertaining.
All I can say is WOW. This movie has it all that you want in a movie. Don't listen to the 'diehard' nerds that put down this movie down, they just remind me of the character comic book guy from the simpsons that refuses to like anything. I've read the book too, some changes were made from it but I welcome the change. If you're reading this then you need to stop and go wacth it NOW!!!!
Awesome! me and my girl friend both really enjoyed this one, great character developement, good plot and cinematograhpy was spectacular. One negative thing id have to say was that the ending to my standers felt a bit rushed but besides that 4/5
Good movie should have been 2hrs to many slow parts not needed
I wanted to leave an hour into the movie. Boring. Boring. Boring.
This movie was truly amazing. The plot was not fantastical as it showed how costumed-heroes can co-exist with others and it goes through how humans trust/distrust them. Very funny moments. Followed the graphic novel pretty darn well!!
great movie well done
Not having read the series I didn't know what to expect. I just knew that I had to see it. At 163 minutes I had the impression that this movie would drag. Was I wrong though there were a few bumps here and there. This movie has everything: action, suspense, drama, romance, pathos and even humour. The CGI effects were unlike anything I'd ever seen. Simply amazing. The story and characters were totally believable. The charachter of Rorschach played by actor Jackie Earle Haley was really the best. Will I see it again? Most definitely. There's just too much to absorb with just one viewing.
quis custodies ipsos custodiet- Who watches the Watchmen? The film stayed true to the fanboy worshipped original, which speaks to the talent of the writers for attacking this seemingly insurmountable task, changing only to evolve, a theme also present in the film. quis custodies ipsos custodiet- Who watches the Watchmen, A rhetorical question, which in the aftermath of a deeply powerful and wholly brilliant adaption, seems to have a simple answer -everyone should
great action and plot that keeps me entertained and wanting.
way better than batman, it is a must see. like seriously drop what you are doing right now and go watch this movie!!!! you won't be dissapointed.
I LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS THE BEST
Who watched the Watchmen? I did, and I have mixed feelings over it. It is an intriguing film, but not worth defending. But I'm getting way ahead of myself. There is absolutely no doubt that this film was truly a visually cinematic experience unlike most others. I recommend seeing this film in Imax, because it's sure to dazzle your eyes and leave you in awe. Zack Snyder has a very distinct visual style, employing slow motion with superb and savage fight choreography, and he puts it to good use in Watchmen. As for the soundtrack, the variety and eclectic blend of selected music was pitch perfect for the film, ranging from Simon & Garfunkel to Nena. All the selected songs are cult classic
The movie was too long and slow paced. It was also confusing going from the past to the present and the ending was dragged out and the plot was not that great.
Really amazing visual effects and fight choreography. I was not familiar with the graphic novel so the story was a little hard to follow because there was a lot tense changes from past to present. At any rate a really original film and one of the more substantial super hero movies I have ever seen.
The Watchmen is a relevant film directed by Zack Snyder (the director of 300) addressing the eternal dilemma of war with additional themes about the meaning of friendship, flawed heroes, our place in the universe and the relevance of our existance. Where do we fit in in the universe? The movie makes us think about metaphysical questions dealing with time, quantum physics and parallel realities. What makes us human? What does it mean to be a hero? This is a good, fun story that is faithful to the limited comic book series written by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons that it is based on. It is full of action and is wonderfully interspersed with great classic songs booming in the background. These so
I think the movie was interesting. There wasn't a lot of action, however, the plot was intriguing and kept the audienced interested in the film. The special effects were excellent and from watching the movie, one could tell that the actors had put in their best acting masks for their roles. I liked the transformation from comic books to more visual and creative moving images. The setting was explicit and I liked how the dark colors of blue, gray and black worked so well in the film together. The dark setting definitely created an aura of suspence, intrigue and mystery. Patrick Wilson and Matthew Goode did a fantastic job as the superheroes. I hope the movie does very well in the theaters
I wish I could rate this movie an extra half a star because it definately deserves a 4.5 and not a 4. Can't wait for the DVD so i can watch it over and over. :P
IT WAS A GREAT ACTION PACKED MOVIE domnebo@canada.com
This "unfilmable" novel really was unfilmable to an extent, much of the depth and meaning which is so important for the novel was missing in this big screen version of events. Themes from the novel were presented in the film, but were limited. Many parts seemed rushed, and did not have as powerful an effect as I feel they should have. Malin Akerman's portrayal of Laurie wasn't too great, she lacked the "presence" essential to her role. Praise goes to the depiction of Rorschach, and also both the Comedian and Sally Jupiter. Ozymandias was not reflective enough of his own actions near the end - as he was in the novel, and such takes a bit away from the depth of his character. They focused more
not my kind of movie but my husband enjoyed it
very realistic movie a good change from really clean movies like spiderman
This is a complex film that I really appreciated. It was everything to me that Batman lacked. Dark, flawed heros are always more compelling. John's nudity was refreshing in a genre known for its sexualization and scopophilia of the female form. Telling all of my friends to go who do not normally appreciate this genre. Excellent!
As a fan of the Watchmen graphic novel, going in to see the film I was attempting to set aside what I knew in order to see the adaptation seperate and be able to accurately consider it as a movie and nothing more. Unfortunately I was not able to keep my mind from relating scenes to the novel, and therefore compared it as the film went along. This had me finding faults in specific areas - which is why I do not hand it 5 stars. I found that, to start out with, this "unfilmable" piece really was unfilmable to an extent, much of the depth and meaning which is so important for the novel was missing in this big screen version of events, to some extent this was expected (when compressing an entire
Eye-popping special effects. To watch for!!!
was very entertaining with a decent amount of action.
well done special effects great
I enjoyed the movie good special effects but didn't think it needed to be 2 1/2 hours long.
the best
It was very intense with immaculate detail. Very well done!
Great Movie, It portrayed the comic well and the visuals were amazing! Some of the scenes did go unnecessarily over the top, and some of the scenes were definitely not for the faint of heart. The small changes to the story worked for me, and the acting was very good (especially by Jackie Earle Haley and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.) This movie is definitely worth seeing in theatres, but read the graphic novel to understand the story better.
I have spoken to the a comic book fan after the movie and they thought it was great. Since I have never read the book, I did not know much about the story before last night. I would rate the movie at most 5 out of 10. I found the story slow in part (trying to get all us none watchmen fans caught up to speed). I really enjoyed the fight scenes (wish they had more). I did really enjoyed the character Rorschach and the beautiful Malin Ackerman (she would be the only reason I would possible watch the movie again).
I am definitly going to buy this 0ne
Excellent movie - glad I got to see it!

too much violence and blood for me .
I enjoyed this movie very much.
it is good even if you've read the book
This movie was more than i expected. If you like non-stop action and thrill, you will love this movie. You haven't lived until you've seen the watchmen movie. HIGHLY recommended!!! 5 Stars
Good special effects but beware of the very graphic gory scenes.
Excellent special fx! Can't wait to watch it again.
Great movie adaptation with very original concept. Superb performances as well
The graphics were absolutely incredible. We will never be able to see a "Happy Face" in the same ways again. My husband and I will be discussing this movie for weeks to come. On the other hand, we might just go and see it again.
