Cable TV programmer Max Renn (James Woods) is looking for a new show to boost his ratings when he comes across an underground broadcast featuring real life torture and snuff films called Videodrome.
Sure that this is what he has been looking for, he and girlfriend Nicki Brand (Deborah Harry) search for the show's creators, only to find themselves involved in a conspiracy involving the use of the TV as a mind altering device. This surreal mystery is a prophetic vision of the information age and quintessential Cronenberg.
