Recently retired Jean-Pierre is a hypochondriac. He's convinced that the eczema on his hip is skin cancer. This alarming discovery coincides with more bad news: his daughter Cathy, the divorced mother of a toddler, has just announced, to himself and his wife Anne, her upcoming wedding to her working-class boyfriend Philip. Anne, in charge of organizing the wedding, takes the the liberty of inviting Mathieu, who is in love with their gay son.
To lift his spirits, Jean-Pierre goes to spend a few days with his brother in Bretagne. When he returns early, he catches his wife in bed with his former colleague and the discovery sends him into a unparalleled neurotic crisis.
