I read all of the books within a week, loved them so much that i became obsessed... I was tempted to go see the movie. I new that i might either love it or hate it. The story and the way that i've pictured the book in my head, wasn't helping my dislike to it. They had modified the story, the actors (Bella and Edward) didn't really connect... it was way off. I would recommend that you don't read the book, before watching the movie.
The movie had a lot of potential but the first 1.5 hours was filled with overacting and a lot of constipated looks passing between the main characters. The last half hour of the movie ended on somewhat of a high note. I can't say which is worse, the movie or the books. Be ready for lots of cringing.
Bella is the worst actress and the movie could have been better with another girl...rather than her...she didnt show any enthusiasm or interest...HORRIBLE acting by bella...Edward played a good role
Oh Boy. And really if it wasnt for the boy, i would have walked out of the theatre. Please someone fire the director for poor .. uhm direction. and the screenwriter for poor.. uhm adaptation. While some find the Edward lab scene comical, i found it pathetic. No where in the novel does it say that Edward gags. This is a century old vampire, reliving highschool for the twentieth time - really, could he had not acted the part, just a little. I'm coming to terms with the fact that the 35 million obviously went to paying of film critics and trailer makers cause the film lacked the sincere depth of the love affair between Edward and Bella, the brilliance and magical Cullen family (they were port
The movie is a disgrace to the book. Kristen Stewart is a horrible actress and I only hope that they stop at this movie and don't ruin the rest of the books.
LOVE TWILIGHT!!
IT WAS AN AWESOME MOVIEE! I WANT TO WATCH IT AGAINNN
I don't get the hype about this movie. Barely half of the viewers of this movie gave it a 5, doesn't really explain the hordes and hordes of chicks on the freakin streets screaming and crying for it. This always happens with books-to-movies. Big hype, not what is expected movie.
i loved the movie twilight it was a clif hanger. i used to be harry potters #1 fan but after this movie i switched right away. I loved the books to the movie was so like it! eek.
Ok, I saw this movie 3 times, and loved all 3 viewings. I was amazed at how much the audience reaction affected how the film felt. If you are just going to be obnoxious - leave. With each viewing, the acting from the leads seemed better and better, and the special effects remained just as low-budget. Rob Pattinson should be given significant accolades. He did actually catch my eye as Cedric in the Potter films, as I am a huge Potter fan. I am very impressed with this young actor and look forward to seeing him in future films. New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn among others.
My 18 year old daughter had a smile on her face throughout most of the movie. She is in love and I must admit, I can see why. Robert Patinson was a great choice. I'm not sure about Kirsten Stewart. She was a little lack lustre. Still, a very good movie and looking forward to the next.
the best movie of the year.
An Amazing Movie just as good as the books! Highly Recommend it to everybody!
I'm upset with the very distant portrayal of the book. I know it's only "inspired" by the book but why take such a widely recognized/celebrated saga when your not going to represent it accurately. They chaneged Bella froma strong, silent sufferer into a scared pouting teenager. They really didn't show the development of the relationship between Edward and Bella well either. There were some string performances and with different screenwriting and some touch ups i'd give the sequel a chance.
LOVED IT AND AM GOING TO SEE IT AGAIN!!
as a movie it isn't completely horrible but it does feel like one is reading the 'cliff-notes' and not the novel. it just really lacked the emotional intensity of the novel. bella here seemed just too distant and edward well you wonder what he sees in her???
we loved it and can hardly wait for more
To be honest it could have been longer and I would have liked to see more scenes with Bella and Edward but in the end it was really great all I can say is I hope New moon is longer and if so I'll be first to buy tickets. I also plan to see Twilight again and buy the DVD but I do hope there are a lot of deleted scenes.(I also hope they have a bigger budget for New Moon)
I think that it was the best movie ever!! i loved it. it was like the book!! Not word for word but thats ok!! i loved it!
It was great now I am reading the series
Great movie to accompany the book. if you didn't read the book then i can't see the movie being that great. there were some choppy scenes as a result of trying to fit everything from the book into the movie. there is definite room for improvement for new moon but overall some scenes, the crucial ones, were amazing. i thought the characters chosen were absolutely perfect. Edward was exactly how i pictured him. verdict= room for improvement but none the less delivered.
This movie was not bad at all. REMEMBER, when you make a book into a movie of course it will not be the same, they never are! I feel that the actors did a great job. The filming wasn't the greatest I will admit, but I feel the actors did a good job portraying the characters. I am so excited for New Moon!!!
This was an amazing love story and I believe it did justice to the book. Stephanie Meyer grew as a writer as the books progressed and I'm sure the movies and the actors will as well. My husband like it better than Quantum of Solace.
Wow an amazing movie, just like the novel. It makes you go at the edge of your seat. At the end of it, you are awaiting for more. Definetely a five star. Look for more of my reviews. E.B.A.
LOVEDD IT!!!!!!!!! THE BESTT MOVIEE , GOOOD JOB GUYS.
THE BESTTT!, WHOEVER DIDNT LIKE THE MOVIE. YOU GUYS ARE CRAZZZY! BESTT MOVIEEE ILOVEEEYOUUU EDWARD CULLEN AND BEELLLAA!<333
AMAZING. There are other words. I loved it, I thought it was very well made, lots of people said it was corny, and dumb, but i loved it. It is kinda one of those movies you either love or hate the people that haven't read the books usually hate it.
The books are truly amazing but I personally felt that alot of the actors and actresses chosen to portray the characters were poor at acting in the film. Many of them came off as cheesy and it also felt like they were saying their lines to fast. The story lined happened so fast in the movie and i completely understand that if it were to go as exactly as the book than the movie would be to long. But hey they did an awesome job with "Harry Potter" and those are long books too. I was just hoping they could do the same. I was also disappointed in how the scene where Bella has to leave her father to go somewhere save, there was no emotion.
They've taken everything I loved about the book, and destroyed it.
I think the movie was okay, but the book was great. I have no idea why anyone would hate twilight.
this movie sucked!!! there was no chemistry between the two, the book was way way better. Although Edward looked hot!!!, the movie was a complete disappointment. The actor/actress sucked and they seemed rushed into shooting the film rather than running through it and understanding the characters.
The Twilight series is a favourite of mine, and although I know you can't capture everything from a book on film, this wasnt even CLOSE. The effects were far-fetched and unrealistic in the slightest. At times you could swear you could see the actors reading off of cue cards. The only good thing I really have to say about this movie is that it got me interested in Twilight....thank GOD I read the book before I saw the film....terrible.
I read the books and although I think that the characters could have been portrayed better (mainly Bella) I think it was interesting to see someone elses perspective of the story. People expect a movie adaptation to be just as good as the book and just like they pictured it but everyone will picture their dream Edward in a different way, or the fight between Edward and James to look a little different. I think overall, even though the movie was cheesey in parts and the special effects weren't very impressive, I think it was really, really good and worth going to see!
this movie is awsome i cant wait for new moon. i have read all the book's and think the movie did it justice. where they changed to movie from the book made it funny and gave it character. i think they did a super job makinbg it into a movie. i was scared they would butcher it but they didn't. although kristen and rob could work on their chemistry a little.
i think this movie is pretty good. i mean its not as bad as people are making it out to seem. i say it depends on the person and that if you read the book and think the movie is going to be the EXACT same it isnt. i mean look at the size of the book then look at the time they have to make the movie. i mean come on. well its a pretty good moviee - TEAM EDWARD but i still love taylor lautner =)
Horrible movie!! They shredded the book! I can't believe Stephanie Meyer approved any of it. I'd rather wish they make a 3 hour movie to get the story right. Fans will sit and watch it, if it's worth watching. They better get it figured out, before they make New moon, or we are just going to be more disappointed. This was "low budget" all the way. I didn't know that "Twilight" was a comedy:(
Loved the books a thousand times more. but the movie was definitly awesome and will have a place on my dvd stand
Loved the book, and am very greatful and impressed that it was made into a movie....great job by all!
i loved the movie but if you read the book you would know that they cut out some really important parts but over all it was a good movie!!
this movie was a little rough around the edges but it is one of those movies that the second time around it gets better. Also for those who haven't read it they are now more interested in reading it and because there have been enought people going to see the first they now have more money and can do the second not as quickly and it will come out so much better.
this was the best movie in the world i would see it again any day
Butchered
Best movie ever i cant wait till new moon im almost finished the book i have 4 more pages.THE BEST MOVIE ever i love ROBERT PATTONSON
I am a twilight mom and went with a group of teenage girls. I don't know who enjoyed it more, them or myself. I understand they had to change a few things from the book to keep the story moving and not be a 5 hour movie. I will definately see it again and will get the DVD when it comes out. I can't wait for New Moon so I can be the Mom with the kids again.
don't go into this movie thinking it is going to be just like the book so go in expecting nothing like i did and the movie was awsome!!! the kissing seen was soooooooo hot!
I'm not sure how I should feel. Great acting but the flow was bad and WAY to many scenes were changed from the book. WE LIKE THE BOOK THE WAY IT IS,YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE IT! I found we needed to see not just the kissing but the movie didn't capture the defining parts of their relationship. Other then that it was amazing! :)
this movie is amzing with both love and adventure
it was the most amazing movie i have ever seen!! i think it was very well done and very close to the book.
OMG! it was a good movie! im srry that was better than the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed reading the books, I literally couldn't put them down. I wasn't totally disappointed with this movie. Because they did have a small budget. I do wish they would of created a better transition, the movie moved way too fast through all the character building scenes. The previews showed lots of action, so the people in the theatre must of been slightly disappointed, those who didn't know what to expect. Everyone laughed in the theatre at all the parts that were suppose to be sweet and not creepy. The voice over sounded horrible. Kristen sounded like she was just reading off the paper instead of feeling the emotions and being bella. Everyone was dreamy. I didn't think of the act
