As the mayor of a small town in southwestern France, Simon Wolberg arouses as much annoyance as enthusiasm. On the campaign trail, this eloquent, educated man, inspiring but a little too controlling, doesn't hesitate when it comes to interfering in the privacy of his citizens.
It's the same at his own home. Reluctantly welcoming into his home his bohemian brother with whom he doesn't get along, the father hen tries to prevent him from setting a bad example for his young son, who secretly harbors artistic ambitions. Simon also overprotects his daughter, who hides her intentions to leave home in a few days, as soon as she reaches eighteen. In addition, the mayor tries to keep the flames of his marriage alive, not realizing that his deeply unhappy wife is considering leaving him.
