This is a great movie, and in most instances is an accruate view of the north and the tundra or Barren`s as we call them up here. Barry Pepper and Annabella Piugattuk`s performaces were outstanding. Ms. Piugattuk is an exceptional find and another shining example of the wealth of amazing home grown talent we have in the north. Living and working through out the Arctic many of the scenes were just as I know them. I especially related to Barry Peppers scene, waking up to the swarming mosquitoes after the rain. I have suffered through such swarmings and have seen caribou driven to near maddness by them. I was also happy to hear the use of Inukt

a great story, great actors, and marvellous scenery. It`s about time we had a Canadian movie that would equal or beat an American movie, with all their big budgets.

For years I have watched American Movies because the Canadian films were not as spectacular. (the Canadian films were good but never able to grab me emotionally) However with `The Snow Walker` this all changed. This was an extraodinary film that told me `Canadian Films are now world class`. After watching it I was a bit prouder to say `I`m Canadian`. Great production, thank-you..................

A very sad story. To show humanity is a rare thing today when it comes to life in a simple way. This movie really grabbed me in a way thats hard to explain. Annabella Piugattuk play her caracter so well that I still think about Kanaalaq. What im trying to say is that she made Kanaalaq so alive that I only see Kanaalaq and not Annabella Piugattuk. She really hit the star. Other actors, an example Woody Allen, Robert de Niro you name it, when they are playing a caracter it is often you se rhe actor and not the caracter. This movie is one of my favourite now and it will be hard for another mobie to brake this one. It gets 10 out of 5 hehe.

I was totally awestruck with Annabelle Piugattuk, Not only is she beautiful, she has an awesome ability to tough the depths of your soul. Barry Pepper delivered a performance that will result in great opportunities in the future.

This movie enveloped me.Barry Pepper`s perfomance is subtle perfection. The Inuit people and their way of life should be preserved,we could learn a lot from them.

What an amazing movie! Candadians should be proud to be a part of this great piece of work! Annabella has the potential to be an up and coming star and took the role and made it her own! The director should win awards for this one! A+++++

Snow Walker was awesome. I loved it. Superb performances, let the pictures tell the story and had enough surprises to keep you wondering just who survived.

Great movie, so pleased to see that Canada was involved in making of this movie. I hope it does well at the Genie Awards.

I think that this is a fantastic movie. It`s a good thing that it was made by Canadians `cause I`m sure that if it was made by Americans, it could have been very cliche, wheras now, it`s simply beautiful. Acting is world class. Excellent cinematography, amazing, understated score. This team definately needs to make more movies!

A very nice movie. One small anachronism: The movie takes place in 1953, but during the search for the downed plane one of the radio operators refers to Inuvik, which didn`t exist until 1954, when Aklavik suffered a severe flood and the government decided to create a new town at the site of present-day Inuvik, then called East Three.

A beutiful and poignant story. This movie is a great mix of Arctic survival adventure along with meaningful messages about culture, life and death. Annabella Piugattak steals the show with her powerful and sensitve portrayal.

loved it

Excellent portrayal of the arctic but the Norsmean crash was a little too dramatic. No wonder people are afraid to fly in small airplanes. They think the plane is uncontrolablle when the engine quits. Otherwise, the movie was a real joy.

Beautiful and believable. Captured the magnificence of the Arctic and an honest portrayal of Inuit tradition and lifestyle within the context of territorial modernization. Wonderfully acted.

I lived in Kugluktuk, Nunavut for three years and found this movie to be very authentic of what people are like and how they are out on the land. Annabella was fantastic...but the funny thing was she was probably just herself! The tuberculosis thing affected so many...it is so sad that so mant people were forgotten. It was good to see it and feel it instead of just hear stories.

Absolutely Beautiful and breathtaking. Award winning calibre. Brought tears.

Lovely film. Quiet yet grabs your attention. A landscape that is gorgeous, desolate, intense and harsh.

I was enraptured from the moment Annabella Piugattuk entered the story. What a wonderful film.

I enjoyed the story. I fell in love with Charlie after he softened and realized that he could survive with the help of this beautiful woman. It was exciting to learn about the way of life in the North. I would love to see more movies like this one. It was very interesting to see a different way of life and how you can survive from the land. Raw fish...Maybe???

Beautiful film. Had no idea it was Farley Mowat. I`m a student of Northern and Western Canadian History with a special interest in cultural encounter experiences. This was hauntingly moving, insightful, critical (but not overwhelmingly so), and sophisticated. Beautiful story.
