If Annabella is like this in real life, she must be a fantastic person. She certainly made me shed a few tears.
The film moved me. Actually, it flawed me. I felt like I was there.
Great movie, A natural in Annabella Piugattuk. It seemed like she wasn`t acting. Hope the best for her future. It was a pleasure to watch her. Tony
this movie is awesome!!! I have seen it three times and I cant wait to see it again! Annabella is star numero uno!!!!! I hope to see more of her on the big screen! Great job!
I recently stumbled across this movie and must admit it is one of the best movies I`ve had the priveledge of watching in years. I was simply awestruck...completely engrossed. Annabella Piugattuk and Barry Pepper are phenomenal actors. I laughed, cried and learned how to embrace life all over again. I truly hope this movie continues to receive the decent exposure it deserves.
i thought the movie is one of the best movies i`ve seen because of the knowledge that you can receive from it if it would happen to you you better hope you run into somebody like annabella because it shows that theres still peope out there that can show you whats human and what`s materialism ; which is the beuty of the movie
I loved this movie, the acting was absolutely first rate, the story was captivating, the scenery breath taking, I would absolutely recommend this inspiring, enchanting movie to anyone.
Annabella is a goddess. I hope we see more of her.
Excelent Movie......Annabella is a natural talent...A beautiful young girl and extremely genuine...I would love to see her in more movies and hope that her talent carries her as far as she would like to go.
I thought the movie was pretty good, however it would have been a blockbuster if the young woman had survived and they both had made it out together. This would have left the door open for a part two.
Excelent movie. Very touching.
A real one!! as human as valuable... going beyond prejudices and ethnocentrism (?) shows the inner bond that links humans with all beings. Excellent film !!
Excellent!! Moving!! There is simply nothing more to say that will convey my feelings.
I liked the tension between the two -- the culture, Charlies` inner issues from the war, Charlies` racist viewpoint, and his obvious sexism. I am surprised that Charlie never tried to have sexual relations with Anna. I guess they producers wanted a `G` rating. Some of the plot appeard confusing: Charlie tried to walk to the nearest town (100 miles he figured), but after going 90 miles, he decides to return to the plane. Not easy to understand. Also I was interested in the kind of person Charlie would be back in `civilization`. Would he feel a bond with the native peoples; would be marry one; would Charlie be their defenders -- their brother -
I really enjoyed this movie! We rented it for our family night last night and it was extremely touching and real. I only wish I knew what was in those 3 barrels that were left on the shore!! Curiosity I guess...ha! I wish the ending showed more...I guess everybody loves a happy ending and I thought it would show him going back to civilization. We did enjoy the movie, it was the perfect choice. :-)
it was the best acting than I ever see in a long time she was grate I think she must also be a nice person in real life
Anabella Piugattuk was really very good! We`d like to see more of her and more movies like this!
i really like this movie,,, very amazing Barry Pepper is such a very actor
it`s was a great film about a person that must or try to survive because he`s not the only person on that time so he must show his strength to alive to help the girl....
I think that this movie is a very inspirational one,,especially when annabella portrayed Kanaalaq,,i found her really beautiful and a talented actress,,,
The Story of Snow walker is very great for the viewer & for me,But the ending of the story is not complete for me! I wish that this movie has a "Part 2"!
Simply presented but full of profound metaphor for the contrast between a reality based on the intellect and machines, and a reality that is intuitive and grounded in the natural world. A redemption of the arrogant and wounded pilot who experiences a courageous and patient human who understands compassion, sacrifice and love for all life. The film has a beautiful message and is quite well done. The film immerses the viewer into the beauty of the Tundra.
This is a wonderful film. In a sense, there is a significant weakness, which is the flat, cliche-obsessed characters of the Yellowknife counterpoint. However, they serve as a reminder of the shallowness of Charlie until fate and Kanaalaq helped him to deal with his demons and become grounded in the land, a meaningful relationship, and a goal of survival that becomes survival and growth of the spirit. It depicts a rarely seen side of what it means to be Canadian, and it does so in a way that is both uplifting and entertaining.
The type of MOVIE I can take my children to and not worry about content. Would like to see more of Annabella as she is GREAT in The Snow Walker.
this movie tells me alot how Inuit people live eating groundhogs, cariboo, and etc.
Breath taking scenery, spiritually stunning.
This is the type of screen art we are sadly lacking. There were so many life lessons instead of the garbage many film makers have been convincing movie-goers they "must see" over the past dozen or more years. This film was devoid of sexual explicities, coarse language, and violence. Imagine that and it still has been receiving stunning reviews. The leading actors were superb. The scenery was captivating. A visual feast that left one feeling very uplifted. Bravo!
When I walk around the perimeter of a video store all I seem to notice is movies with violence, profanity, destruction.etc...I don`t want to see movies like that...Is there such a demand for violent, destructive movies...? We have so much of that in society now, without having to watch Hollywood! Snow Walker focused on an environment that was harsh yet extremely beautiful. The cinematography was absolutely incredible. The meshing of two cultures and two languages, bringing people together, respecting each other, what a wonderful story. The acting seemed natural but so touching. The sound track was so beautiful, the music really coincided w
This was such a beautiful story. This movie really touched my heart....I work for a Airline that flys the canadian North and I definatly have a new understanding for the people who live up there.
It was incredibly beautiful. I never expected such depth; I rented it randomly (never heard of it before). I wept at the end. I`m a guy, and don`t cry generally.
Both visually and spiritually stunning! Thank you cast and crew, and Mr. Mowat for your inspiration.
A fantastic journey both in mind, time and culture, I wish I were there.
one of the most extraordinary film I ever seen.It decribes with grace and compassion the encounter of two cultures and the discovery of the inuit soul for many people who do not know it.
Engrossing tale of survival in the Arctic with touching theme of redemptive bond that develops between arrogant Canadian bush pilot and dying Inuit girl. Unlike all too many films whose impacts vanish with their final reel, this one has an emotional resonance that stays with you after the film.
This movie was so wonderful. I grew up in Alaska and actually spent many years living in an Inuit village called Unalakleet. The portrayal of these wonderful people and their hardworking, generous and compassionate natures was authentic and long overdue. I immediately went online to locate more books and stories written by Farley Mowat. As a high school teacher, I fully intend to incorporate this movie, and the beautiful short story upon which it was based titled "Walk Well My Brother", into my regular curriculum. Charles Martin Smith has outdone himself with this one -- I never thought he would exceed his accomplishment after "Never Cry
How could almost 14% of the folks posting here rate this wonderful movie one star? This is one of those movies that you can`t wait to tell family & friends to see. Filmed on location which depicted the raw beauty of the tundra & resulted in beautifull photography. The acting by all was top rate with special kudos to newcomer Annabela Piugattuk. Nineteen years old; what a bright future she has!
if the Annabella Piugattuk doesnt get an academy award for her performance they should quit giving them.
this movie was downright amazing... I just really want to get my hands on the story it was adapted from. It left me wanting to know more.
Great family film ,well put together we enjoyed this very much.
its absoloutly amazing its so good i just loved it so badly ,i`m going to tell every body about it
Amazing, it was absolutely amazing! I live in Churchill,Mb. The fact that the movie was partially filmed here makes it much more personal. Meeting the cast and the crew was great. All of them were so dedicated, they proved that by surviving our harsh, cold winter days, and nights! You all were great, fun, hard working people, and it was a pleasure to have met you all!
Touching, Magnificant and extremely moving.
I was greatly moved by the strength of character of the Inuit woman and how she sacrificed her own health for the health of another. It was wonderful to see the transformation of the pilot`s character from non-caring to deeply touched and greatful for all this woman sacrificed for him. A wonderous movie full of life`s challenges, strength of character, and spiritual beauty inside another`s soul. Thanks for making such a great Canadian film.
Probably the most enjoyable movie that I have ever viewed. The acting was superb, especially that of Annabella Piugattuk and the role that she played - even though she was playng herself. The storyline was entirely realistic and believable and the scenery is stunningly beautiful and at the same time harsh - just the way it is. Congratulations on a superb movie. I certainly hope that we see more of Annabella Piugattuk in the future.
Absolutely outstanding. Wonderful cast; incredible acting; DVD has terrific documentary and director voice over. A must see; I have watch and watch this movie and love it more each time. I saw it in the theatre, and was glad I went to this "Canadian" movie as it was just wonderfully done. A pleasure to watch.
I was touched by this woman`s strength and agility considering her illness. She became his balance on an uneven playing field, his equal partner for survival, and his tutor, essentially his life. In spite of his preconceptions of who she was he learned, became aware of her value, and ultimately his. Well done.
Spellbinding
A combination of "Dances with Wolves" and "The Edge" but more powerful and compelling than both! - A true masterpiece!
Absolutely wonderful movie due in large part to the young actress Annabella and Barry Pepper who both gave such a moving performance. Thank goodness there are still creative people out there (directors, producers, writers, etc.) making movies that enrich the soul. It is delightful to watch a movie that delivers a plot containing so much more than the usual extreme violence and explicit sexual content throughout. I found this movie to be very well written and it held my attention to the very end of the show. I hope there will be more movies of this calibre in the near future. I am also hoping that Ms. Piugattuk continues a career in actin
Suprisingly a great flick this is a movie the whole family enjoyed!
