Kate (Olga Kurylenko) and Matt (Kevin Janssens) are desperate for a change in life. They decide to leave New York city to move into a large, secluded manor. Once they move in, they discover a large steel door that leads to an empty room. Because the house experiences frequent electrical shortages, they call in an electrician, who expresses surprise that they bought the house, considering the previous owners were murdered there.
Matt immediately begins researching and finds that the murderer is still alive, in a psychiatric hospital. When he goes into the empty room, he wishes for a bottle of alcohol, which suddenly appears. He summons Kate and they discover the room has the extraordinary power to materialize everything they wish for.
Kate soon realizes that the things the room gives them are only material items and says that nothing they've wished for has real value in life. Having miscarried several times, she wishes for a son.
Their new life becomes a true fairytale. However, they soon discover that some wishes can have dire consequences.
