This movie was outstanding. For those skeptical about the french content and subtitles, don`t be. It does not happen that much, and it`s very manageable. You don`t even really notice. Cinematography was awesome. As a life long leaf fan, i found myself pulling for this canadian icon.

Wonderful movie. The acting was superb and as was the photography. The close-ups made it all the more intense and we really felt we were there. It reminded me of how serious the anti-Quebec feelings from English Canada were at the time and how much of it gave rise to the separation issues. More fine films like this please!!!

I think they didn`t tell the truth of the man........ if you notice he scored most of his goals while all others his age was oversea during the war,,,,,, they say he had bad feet so couldn;t enlist well to me if he couldn`t enlist his feet couldn`t been that bad if he could play hockey......and he wasn;t a team person...... so if you are going make a movie of a person then tell the truth.......... like I said most canadians his age were fighting for their country,,,,,,

Historically accurate and visually impressive. It did however take itself a little to seriously with a little too much crying. Great to see a slew of modern NHL`ers in the film portraying yester-years stars. Stephan McHattie portrays Dick Irvin magically, while Roy Dupius`s portrayal of Maurice Richard is often too stiff and awkward. Still, worth seeing this story of a true Canadian hockey icon.

I loved this movie. I have been a Montreal Canadiens fan for over 50 years and it was a great experience to see this presentation of a truly gifted athlete. I once wrote a speech about Maurice Richard when he had scored his 500th goal when I was in grade 6 and presented it to my class.

This is a very entertaining history lesson about the political unrest in sports(and life)that led to the Montreal riots. I would have enoyed learning more of the interaction between Maurice and his younger brother, Henri, though.

This is one of the best films I have seen in a few years, including the big studio blockbusters from Holleywood. It is beautifully directed and well acted, and the story is one that all Canadians should see and hear. Maurice Richard was a gifted athlete who became a national hero for oppressed French Canadians, He carried this struggle on his shoulders with courage and dignity. His heart lives on, not only for the people of Quebec but for all who cherish freedom and basic rights. GO SEE IT!!

Best movie I have seen in years. Absolutely believable. Loved hearing it in French with English sub-titles. The period shots of Montreal were classic and the use of black and white film was great. Gave the movie a uniqueness unseen for ages. Acting very good.

I went expecting to enjoy the film to an extent but came out liking it a lot more than expected. I was expecting to have gotten bored since it was a pretty klong movie and it was in french, although I speak and understand french I dont like watching movies in french. I love the fact that they used the olden ways lie when the coaches spoke english and the players french(well most of them) I really enjoyed the movie and it was the perfect combo of the great sport of hockey and the story of Maurice Richard. Loved it and I recommend for everyone to watch it. Cristina(16yrsold)

This was not just a hockey film but a politicial one as well, It showed in many ways, that the Richard Riots were not about injustice done to a single athlete but about the years of psychological abuse suffered by the French population of Quebec. Thus was sparked the beginning of the Separatist movement. I love hockey and found this film entertaining from a sports point of view. i was not quite prepared for the political clout that it handed.
