Oh my, I loved this film. It broke my heart.
I loved it!! Especially the Phantom. Wise choice-Gerard Butler
Love this movie! I`ve seen it 9 times - more than any other movie I`ve ever seen! It`s a beautiful, moving tribute to Andrew Lloyd Weber`s wonderful play!
i loved it best movie i have ever seen i loved it!!!!!!!!
The cast was perfect. The singing was great. I enjoyed every bit of the movie all five times that I saw it. I would like to have seen the original singer of Learn To Be Lonely sing the song at the Acadamy Awards.
In my heart, the Phantom has won all the Oscars. Never in my life had I reacted so emotionally while watching a film...The Phantom did it. This movie is the best musical I`ve ever seen. Everything is just fantastic from director, actors, actresses, to stage sets, cinematograhpy, choreography, music, etc etc. I have to thank Joel and Andrew for picking the wonderful and one and only gorgeous looking and talented Gerard Butler to be the young sexy Phantom; and the beautiful and talented Emmy to be Christine. There`s no other perfect match than this one. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS MUSICAL TO THE MOVIE SCREEN AND BEAUTIFUL PRODUCED AND MADE!
Absolutely beautiful! So many emotions are experienced throughout the movie. I started crying as soon as the overture started. I thought the cast did a spectacular performance!
I absolutly loved this film! i saw it onstage once when i was younger and my mother has seen the live production like 15 times! so I went to see it and just can`t get enough! even people who don`t like musicals must go see this!I am so glad that the director decided to use gerald butler instead of antonio banderus, yes he didn`t have much musical training but he did a superb job! THE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME!
Pierced my soul - beautiful
awesome!!!
extavagant!!! simply amazing!
Great! Followed the Play beautifully!
One of my favourites!!
It was a sensory experience - a feast for the eyes and the ears. What a courageous move for Gerard Butler to tackle this famous musical, dominated by Michael Crawford and veteran musical performers. Bravo Gerard!!!!!
Iloved the movie Its one of my favorites I loved the music the costumes the voices of the actors especialy gerard Butler`s voice he has such intensity and passion in his voice and acting, I just loved it.
it took my breath away, beautiful - emmy did a wonderful job as christine - innocent and vulnerable and childlike and yet still able to love after being deceived by the phantom plus she sings like an angel - gerard was the perfect choice for the phantom - the phantom needed the raw and angry edge to his voice. gerard`s voice may not have been exactly like michael crawford`s BUT i almost liked the sound of it better. more believable from a person who lives in a cave and lives in darkness. it makes me mad that some don`t enjoy this movie.... i have never seen a movie more than once and have seen this 4x....
A great musical. Patrick Wilson was fantastic, I love his voice. Emmy Rossum acted with the skills of a veteran, its hard to believe she is a teenager. She sings like an angel. Gerald Bulter portrayed the Phantom as a wicked crazy person. Fantastic
moving ! the music alone made the characters compelling not just a chick flick my date was impressed
I am upsessed with it!
Wonderfull......5 Starr! My wife and I went to see the movie which "finally" showed in Owen Sound.. allthough we had seen the screen play 3 x.... we were awed by the movie, with it`s ability to showand have more scenarios.... Wonderfull, Such a voice from such a small package!
I think the movie was beautiful. My husband and I saw the original play, and we both thought this movie more than measured up. The only thing missing was the intermission half way through!!!! Wonderful casting and set design.
I have seen it five times. I think it was wonderful. It was visually beautiful and Gerard Butler was a masterful phantom. Emmy Rossum was perfect in the part of Christine and Minnie Driver was really funny as La Carlotta.
My girlfriend dragged me to this film after days and days of nagging. I felt no need to go since she has already seen it 10 times (that right 10 times). Having now seen it, I can see why she IS so obsessed. This film magnificent and this is coming from a man who CANNOT stand musicals. Several scenes gave me goosebumps and raised me to a level I have never experienced in a movie theatre before (did someone say Nirvana??). Spellbinding and artistically beautiful. Unless there`s something wrong with your eyes and ears, you will like (or in some cases LOVE) this film.
This movie was absolutely perfect! Gerard Butler was a fantastic choice for the phantom and takes the veiwer into his world of tragedy, romance, love and passion. His voice supprised me... absolutly knee buckling. Emmy Rossum aslo was a great actress to play the role of Christine. The two had an on stage chemistry which was magical. This movie completely envolves the viewer into its fabulous plot and the songs remain in your head for weeks. You go Andrew Lloyd Webber for making this movie as perfect as the broadway musical! The music was outstanding! Even though the phantom wasnt as hideous as in the original movie, it focuses more on the tra
The nusic is more than beautiful. its angelic.
This film was wrongfully "snubbed" at the Oscars. It deserved more than 3 nods. That said, this is a great musical experience. Run don`t walk to see this spectacular adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber`s most succesful musical. On the big screen, it`s larger than life and you will want to see it again.
the best movie i have seen in my 18 years of living
i loved butler as the phantom - and his voice!
terrific just as it was in the theater
The movie was brilliant! Everyone gave a superb performance, however, Gerard Butler, gave life to the Phantom. How I connected with his pain and suffering. I shall never be the same.
I LOVED IT!
This movie was wonderful. Gerard Butler did a fantastic job playing the phantom, everyone in this movie was great! I loved the movie and the soundtrack!!!!!!! I loved it and I hope to go see it again and again! I loved it!
I thought the movie was axesome. I loved it and I want to go and see it again. The actors did a wonderful job, and everything was just awesome.
It was spectactular !!! The music and scenes were breathtaking !
I loved this movie, and yes, I had seen the Broadway production and was already a fan of Phantom. It`s a beautifully done movie, visually stunning, with wonderful singing and acting. I encourage everyone to see it!
I knew it was going to be awesome just by the previews! I`ve seen the play 4 times and the movie was right up to par! You won`t regret it, I promise. I can`t wait for it to come out on dvd so I can add it to my collection!
i thought it was amazing.the music, the voices, and the costumes where all so beautiful. Rossum has a practically flawless voice, and Butler was wonderful as the Phantom.
It left me utterly speechless in the end! The sheer power of the music and story line casts a spell on and around you! I`ve been to see it several times already, I hope to see it several times more(before it hits DVD) and it still renders me .... speechless. I have never left a theater feeling the way I did and still do after seeing this movie!
Just as good as the play if not better
Let me start of by saying... that no one, and I mean NO ONE can "swoop" a cape like Gerard Butler! Movies these days are just a bunch of fluff, comedic relief, T & A and absent plots. It is rare that a movie comes to the screen and leaves an infinite impression in the viewer`s mind. Finally, someone had the nards to stand up, rebel against cinematic-conformity and create a musical of a beloved and well-known Broadway play. Is this dangerous? Yes… but highly applaudable! And not only did Andrew L. W. and Joel S. have the fortitude to bring this recreation to the big screen, but they made it ASTONISHING! The music, the cast, the cinemat
I went to see it 5 times and still want to go again. It was captivating and entrancing.
pretty much my favoritist movie of the year- possibly even ever! me and my whole family are left with the words in our heads etcetera etcetera
I thought this movie was visually awesome and the music just took you away from everything.I could see why some have seen it multiple times. I did not see the stage version but I`m sure this was close as one could get.Excellent.
great!love the music...
No one... and I mean NO ONE can "swoop" a cape... like the babe (G.B.) who played the Phantom. It has been a long time since a movie could bring on the goose-bumps. I was amazed at the singing, and was grateful that they kept it as close to the broadway play as much as possible. I have gone 4 times since the release... and plan to go many more times!
A truly stunning performance!
no turning back now.....absolutely mesmerising..i have seen the movie 3 times...the music is so seductive...and powerful....the story tragic and engrossing..i have decided....they earned and deserved academy awards for the obvious work to direct and produce, costume and orchestrate...the voices were spellbinding, i love sarah and michael, but I put them away and listen only to this phantom, and sing at the top of my lungs, with a tear in my eye....Sue
The best movie i have seen in a long time
soooperb!
At first i had expected that it would not be as good as the musical, but after walking out of the movies, i realized that i was wrong. It was stunning and left me speechless. Emmy Rosum continues to blow me away in every way: her voice, her beauty, and the fact that she has accomplished so much at such a young age. Gerard Butler was by far one of the most incredible phantoms i have ever seen. He was so into character and you really did fall in love with his character. I cannot believe that he had no singing experience proir to the movie. His version of "Music of the Night" was just beautiful. If you haven`t seen this movie, you must!
