its amazing how people can`t tell difference between reality and a movie
But what if it is true? Makes you think about Jesus, what he said, what he did, and why he died. If it is not true...no problem but, if he really was who he says he was then we really need to consider some large life changing questions. A very thought provoking movie!
I thought it was like no other movie I have ever seen, very powerful. This is definitely something not meant to entertain, but rather stir us from within.
I`m from India. I`m born in a Christian home but i always believed that to call myself a christian, its more important to make Christianity a way of life and not a religion. I always felt that we filthy human beings are not worthy of God`s Love that he should send his only Son. This movie tells me that every whip that God took on his back should have been on mine. I`m the unworthy filth that God washed me.- David Sandeep Robert, India.
it was amazing
People - good or bad, it is a MOVIE! If you can`t grasp the difference between reality and films, you are in real trouble.
A powerful reminder of history that effects us all.
I found the movie not uplifting, spiritually awkening etc...but I did find that it was worth my time and money to see another`s perspective of Jesus Christ and the way he died. It is true that the movie is not meant for everyone. however it does give any of you the right to criticize a persons beliefs. So comment on the movie not the religion.
i thought that the "Passion of the Christ" was the best movie i have ever seen. Yes, it was gory and sad at times, but it really emphasised the fact that Christ did die a horrible death. i think that it needed to be gory to get that point across. i would definatly go and see it again!
How can anyone know if this was a right depiction of Jesus` life?
Although I found the movie extremely hard to watch, I believe that we really needed to see all the beating scenes to really understand what a horrible and sad story this really was. It really made me realize just how much Jesus endured for sinners. The story was not as much trying to focus on how Jesus was killed, but how he chose to die as a sacrifice for us. He didn`t need to endure this pain, but he did... for us.
No plot. If I didn`t know the story, I would not have learned it from the film. Could have been so much more.
It was an accurate depiction of how CHRIST was tortured and crucified.A must see for anyone.
very good movie, also shows how real and powerful jesus really is. with jesus there is no life.
I was very moved, as was everyone with me. It is especially moving to someone who is knowledgible of the strory of Christ. Thank you Mr Gibson.
Stop the HYPE: You complain about blood, guts and gore and how can anyone go through such abuse and no human race can be that abusive. Here are some for you: 1. Columbine High School 2. Oklahoma Bombing 3. Twin towers 4. Pentagon Explosion Children shooting children, Snipers shooting innocent people for sport, people killing people by the masses for domination. All of that was because of sin and dominence. What Jesus suffered was to save us from our sins because we were not able to save ourselves. "Know the truth and the truth will make you free." 1 John 4:2,3,10,11 "Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses th
After reading many of the comments posted by everyone I can only say this: "The carnal mind can not understand the spiritual things of God." We see this many times in those posted comments. The Passion is not a movie to enter into like going to see The Lord of the Rings or Spiderman or 007. YOu must enter in with a clear and open mind, not one filled with animosities, judgemental attitudes and just plain full of "viper venom" towards others because you saw something you did not comprehend nor could you because of your carnality. The movie was done with great talent, love, endurance, criticism, pain and suffering for something greater tha
I found the movie to be one of the most humbling experiences I have ever had. It made me look within myself to see how helpless I am to save myself and how unworthy I am to have my savior endure this humiliation, degradation, rejection and human abuse because HE loved me. Like it or not, we humans are ALL his creation and HE is worthy of all our praise. All opinions are empty upon the final day of the LORD when we will stand accountable for our sin, abuse, ignorance, judgements, greed and intolerance of one another for material gain. Bottom line, think what you may, say what you may, judge as you may, write as you may but the statistics
Most powerlful movie I`ve ever seen!
Incredible film. people need to stop and take a moment, and reflect on one very important issue. This is a film.. it is not a historical text... but it is one damn fine film.. kudos to Mel Gibson for a stunning film that is absolutely painful to watch.
Graphically stunning, and very very realistic. Emotion that brings you to tears. Yet you will leave silent and uplifted.
Excellent movie.........................Great work Mel!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent movie. The acting and directing were the best I have seen for a film of this genre. The scenes were captivating and the expressions on the actors` faces told the story better than any dialogue ever could. The reviews don`t do it justice. I was left breathless by the magnitude of this movie!
I think the movie was the greatest and that how Jesus really died for us. I think this is America second chance to get to know Jesus well. Mel your the best and i thank you for what you have made for all the unbelievers to get saved. Thank you and see you later.
moving
Great movie, Jesus is the geatest gift from God we can ask for.
Could not abide the lack of charATER DEVELOPMENT. DID NOT END UP FEELING FOR CHRIST AS THE SAVIOUR OF MANKIND BUT RATHER ANY SHMUCK THAT WOULD HAVE TO ENDURE a scourgign until his ribs came through. Gibson should have given us backgroud details to enable the viwer to empathise with the character of Christ. he should have shown us some of his teachings to give meaning to what he died for. I went in hopefull and came out disgusted. this film did not give the meaning that the life of christ promises everyone
I cannot say that this movie was "amazing" "the best movie I`ve ever seen", but i can say that after reading some of the comments written by people, it is hard to believe that some people can come out of the theater saying that Christianity is based upon lies or Jesus was just like any other man. It was so evident in the movie that he was pure and blameless, but chose to die for the sins of the world. This movie wasn`t supposed to be entertaining or highly-climatical, it was a biography of the last 12 hours of the life of Christ. Personally, I came out of the theater only thinking about the guilt I felt inside because I knew it was my sins
a good account of the story that most people love to forget for their own protection and reason for the way they are
Moving, although very graphic it made history come alive and reminded me of the reality of an event that we have become desensitized to.
Wow! An Awesome film. Very well made, acted and portrayal of Jesus` suffering for all mankind. I`m planning on seeing it tonight and will try not to read the subtitles. Very moving John
crap. unless you are a major bible thumper, stay away....
The most touching movie ever
It was a experience beynd imagination, breath taking, powerful, simply beautiful. In my opinion everyone of us should see it, it will change your life forever...
Great comedy movie. I laughed 3 times.
Mel Gibson was passionate about making the Passion of the Christ, I commend him on a job well done, and for having the courage and the patience to hang on to what he believed in for twelve years, I`m glad that he brought this story to the big screen and to try to show the truth of how it really happened and not sugar coat everything as some of those other biblical films that have been made in the past, and two thumbs up to Jim Caviezel for taking on such a challenging role. He is the most realistic looking Jesus of what I believed Jesus comes close to looking like. Not the blond haired, blued version.
I thought it was a great film that tell how jesus christ suffer so much for our sin.
i just finished reading a comment about "what the world is coming to" and they`re right. it is sad what the world has come to. if you can see a movie like this and say that in the first place. hi, it`s called the passion. i also read that someone felt he was blamed for what he didn`t do. that`s the point. jesus died for us. for what we do. every time we sin, that`s another cut in jesus` heart. how can you not see that jesus died for us to get into heaven he payed the toll, not we just gotta go across the bridge. if i`m 15 and i understand this, you need to think about what you`ve done in your life, how many scars have you left with jesus?
if you could sit through this movie and not be completely moved and turned around, you need to evaluate your life. what are you living for? think of it this way: our life here on earth is a fraction of what eternity really is. when we die, we either go to eternal pain or eternal joy. all that ppl will know of us when we die is the dates on our tombstone separated by a dash. make the dash worth it. KY 15
i read through the different things ppl have written. the bible is true. these records have been found along the way. scrolls and doctrines dug up and translated to give us light of what we`re really here for. the bible in itself is a miracle. NO ONE could make up something like. jesus is real. he is a recorded living person. a recorded crucifixion, and a recorded resurrection. MN, 15
it was heartwrenching. to think of all that jesus went through for me absolutely tears me apart. i just submit my whole life to him. he definately earned it. if he can die for everyone in the world, even the ppl who hate him. i can live my life, which is only a fraction of eternity, for him. even though ppl will mock me for it. thankyou so much mel gibson for taking a stand for the real reason everyone is one earth. to glorify god and thank him son for the death he endured.
Itis amazing how so many professional movie reviewers have lost all sense of their craft when confronted with this movie. 3rd rate critics suddenly think themselves to be bibilical scholars. How pathetic they will seem as the artistry of this movie prevails over time.
It was the greatest movie I have even seen!!!!!
Amazing meditation on the suffering of Christ. Very well done.
brillant!
I believe the movie makes you understand what Jesus did for all of us. We should be thankful. But there are a lot of stereotypes in the movie. Mel Gibson`s image of the devil is not what most people were accepting.
I found it very good. Not quite the life changing expirence others hailed it as, but touching and thought provoking none the less. Some parts were a little drawn out. I think he fell 5 or 6 times carrying the ccross in the same dramatic way. Dont get me wrong I cringed every time it happened, but mabey a little less drama with every fall. I loved it none the less. well worth the time and money
i thought it was truly realistic and entriging, hollywood should take notes. mel gibson answered alot of questions about the only way that fills the human heart.
The worst movie I ever had to endure. What was Mel Gibson trying to do??? It is the samething over and over and over....
Spiritually transformational & uplifting !!!
