The worst movie ever made. I should not be forced into a relgion. And I should be able to picture how this happened through my own imagionation.
Absolutley amazing..Ive watched it over 5 times near and it really still moves me. Ive grown up in a catholic enviroment, and now this film has really shown me what it was like. Before, Id only read about it at church and school. It certainly has mad me look more at myself and try to change for the better.
I found it very disturbing to watch, but at the same time it made me realize just what Jesus suffered for our souls. I highly recommend anyone who questions the reality of the crucifixion of Jesus to see this film. I`m sure it will make believers of many.
Excellent!
Didn`t bother to finish watching the entire show.
To the person who said "If you think this movie doesn`t have a plot... read the BIBLE!!!", I just wanted to point out that reading the book the movie is based on should not be a requirement for ANY movie. And if it is then the movie is a failure because that proves that it cannot stand alone as a comprehensive work. A movie is supposed to tell a story, and this one didn`t. It just played on your emotions, knowing full well that an enormous chunk of the population is christian. Absolute Hollywood cashcow.
it really made me think and look at life from a whole other point of view...mel did and awesome job and made people believe in God i had lost faith in him until i saw this movie... Amazing...i`ve never cryed during a movie before this one
amazing~
Alright, this movie is an epic! If you think this movie doesn`t have a plot... read the BIBLE!!! Like sheesh guys, this is like about Jesus and when you say it has absolutely no plot at all, like seriously think for a second, read the 4 gospels of the BIBLE, get some background. 5 Stars all the way. deserves 21 stars. Sheesh Kapeesh.
for ppl that believe in god, it`s fine. i didn`t like it at all. why did mel gibson feel the need to make this movie? this mde me dislike mel gibson.
I`ve never been in a movie theatre where even the guys were crying. it was very emotionally powerful.
Pretty boring. I have no doubt that for the religious this movie was an incredible ride, but for the unbiased movie-goer I felt that this movie just had no storyline whatsoever and was basically a Hollywood cashcow. I mean, nothing happened! A man was tortured, and that`s about it. I had no problem with the graphic nature of the film, but I had a great problem with the lack of plot. As a movie, it was mediocre. As a "religious fable" or whatever you want to call it, I can tell from it`s top rating that it has succeeded. Next they`ll make a movie about a pregnancy in a barn and call that a classic too, I bet. Please.
Quote - "Greatest work of fiction I ever saw." I find this very offensive, for some of us who follow christ as a faith(christianity) and to watch our savoir and yours even if it is just a movie and you dont beleive in it please dont crush peoples feeling who are in the right, hopefully one day you will see the light, and may God bless you. on other subjects I have seen this movie once a long time ago when it was in theaters with a friend, i thought it was VERY well done and captured what it might have been like very good. Maybe people out there that are not beleivers may have a broader aspect of the Passion of the Christ!
deep in our hearts, we knew He was the Son of God, and Mel Gibson, and Jim showed us here that we fail our God, our own true God by sacrificing His Son, with such accurate and meaningful understanding ....superb
that movie made me cry but it was the true story how jesus suffered for us and our sins.
Awful, Awful, Awful too violent.
Mel has delivered what he promised. It is not the whole story of Christ, but it is the pivital portion of his life where he takes apon himself the sins of us all. He gives us ultimate feedom. The freedom from guilt and sin. His resurection is our ultimate hope for because he lives we too can live if we accept him by faith. Excellent job Mel.
IT WAS GREAT!AND VERY MOVING! I JUST BOUGHT THE DVD AND SAW THE MOVIE FOR THE FIRST TIME,CHAULK ANOTHER ONE UP FOR MEL GIBSON HE IS TRULLY ONE THE THE GREATEST DIRECTOR AND ACTOR OF ALL TIME.
An excellent film and it needed to be done. An outstanding job by Mel Gibson.
Horrible. I couldn`t stay and watch it. I will never watch it again.
Im a muslim but i thought it was excellent. Just the way they tortured Jesus made me cry so much. Just imagine that happening to you ... and im sorry i cannot talk more.
its all about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Well Done Mel, The title says it all. I hope it helps many understand the Passion of Christ for us all.
I thought the production lacked Chirst`s humanity. It also was confusing for those who are not Christain to follow along with the plot line. The Bible is a great book, but in this movie it lost the affect it could of had.
It was very real, felt like you were there.
I think this movie is a great interpritation of what Jesus went through. For you people that said this movie does not reflect christ what the hell are you talking about? He loved us so much that he rather suffered and walk through all that pain to save us. How can people this movie be offensive?
absolutely touching...
Amazingly well done. I could visual more then what I was seeing. I think this is wonderful for those to see and understand just what happened. I could not keep up with the tissues needed for how it touched the lives of so many of us.
Very thought-provoking.
For those of you who have seen the entire movie instead of leaving half way through, as you were unable to take all the blood, you will have seen that the Anti-Semitic wave, which came after its release, may not just have been triggered by this movie. Anti-Semitism runs deep in the hearts of many and we don’t need Mel to tell us that. And for those of you, who laugh at Jesus being brutally beaten, even if he was not the Son of God he was still a person and you are just sick. Also I agree with the person who wrote comment on the movie not the religion, so stop your crap and just comment on the bloody movie. No pun intended.
THIS was the greatest story ever told
So many people are saying it was too brutal,he went too far(Mel). Why?He didn`t make up the story, all he did was give a visual of the Bible,of the truth...in the movie it is asked "What is truth?"... TRUTH HURTS
The critical response is amazing and for that reason, the movie is interesting. Are we all that disturbed about the state of humankind? And are we living in fear? It would seem so.The violence was over-stated. But that is typical of television shows and movies in general! Jesus preached a lot about love, forgiveness and redemption. Renewal, rebirth and the Gospel does not portray such a violent scene of the Crucifixation. I think that Mel has taken certain liberties.
It really helped me to understand Jesus"walk and journey. I really liked the way evil was portrayed.
what racist self serving account of mel gibsons interpretation of jesus.
Befor I watched the movie I was a non-believer,I have now watched it over 15 times and still I cannot put into words how deeply it has touched me and my life.I have never in my 32 years felt this way befor.I didn`t believe there was a God or that Jesus ever exsisted or even heaven for that matter.I have always been terrifide with the thought of death but now I know when my time comes Jesus will be there waiting for me to take me home. To anybody who made this movie possible, from the bottom of my heart,THANK-YOU,THANK-YOU for changing my life you have givin my spirit a peace I have never felt befor...THANK-YOU!
The Message was loud and clear!.....Thank You
It was awsome
It was excellent!!! Simply the best!!
I REALY DO NOT SEE WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT....I COULD DIRECT A MOVIE THAT SHOWS A MAN BEING BEATEN AND TORTURED FOR 2 HOURS...WHAT IS THE TALENT IN THAT? I LIKE MEL GIBSON, DON`T GET ME WRONG AND I BELIEVE IN AND LOVE CHRIST....BUT I FELL ASLEEP NOT ONCE BUT THREE TIMES DURING THE MOVIE. SORRY, BUT IT REALLY DOES NOT DESERVE ALL THE PRAISE, NOR DO I FIND IT ALL THAT CONTROVERSIAL.
the best ever produced in movie history..
Very sobering.
Excellent-even though there were sub titles. Being Catholic I understood everything going on. The reding was not tedious and came very natural as it was larger and the words remained on screen for a while. It was the bible coming to life
this is very good movie you should bring more out like this
"The Passion of the Christ" was so power full that it hase had a lasting efect on my life as one who loves Jesus and hase a personal relasionship with Him. Meny years ago I had told God that we needed some one who was well known in the movi industry who was not ashamed of his or her faith in Jesus, would put out a Jesus fill that was so explisit and true to what the Bible sais took place as far as what Jesus suffered through. When I was yonger I had asked God to give me a dream about the crusifixion. I`d asked Him to show me what realy happend. How bad was it.So God did, He gave me a dream. I remember that I was kneeling beside Jesus as h
Duhhhhh?
I got my friend to buy the movie for me and the first time i watched it, omg i`ve never cried so much during a movie before. It`s wonderful in the sense that it protrays the whole i duno..time very well. After watching it I felt different in a good way.
this movie can move or at least touch even the hardest hearts. i`m a catholic, the stations of the cross were taught to me,but i NEVER envisioned them to this extent. even if some argue that this movie is exagerated, the meaning is still there, and lets face it folks, jesus is not the "typical man" ,god the father may well indeed have intended jesus`s suffering to be so violent,to sink in our tiny little minds, just how important our lord`s mission was. he paid the ultimate price for us. i just hope that those of us who are moved bye this film, continue to keep it in perspective in our day to day lives, and not forget once all the publicity of the f
I felt this movie was the most moving and emotional pictures ever made. While at times it seemed to be extremely brutal, it was historically accurate. This movie needed to be made! Everyone has heard of Jesus and the "sacrifice" he made for us but no one can fathom the degree of suffering and agony that he endured by just reading the bible. Seeing it on film, no matter how disturbing for some to watch, puts it all in perspective. Look at our world today people! The world needs a good slap in the face and a wake up call!
Extemely well done. Thankyou Mel for making this movie.
